POKEMON PLATINUM WALKTHROUGH

Twinleaf Town As with Diamond and Pearl, Rowan will introduce the game to you, as well as give you the option to choose your character, your name, and your rival's name. You'll be transported to Twinleaf Town, where your great Pokemon adventure begins.

When the news report finishes, your rival will appear in your room and start blabbering on. Follow him downstairs and your Mom will have a chat to you as well. Head outside and go to the northwest building, your rival's house. He'll barge out of the door into you, but remembers he forgot something in his room. Follow him into his house and head upstairs, then follow him outside and north onto Route 201 to find him. Soon after, Professor Rowan will appear and offer you three Pokemon to choose from: Turtwig Chimchar Piplup

A grass-type turtle that will gain a ground type when it evolves

A fire-type monkey that will gain a fighting type when it evolves

A water-type penguin that will gain a steel type when it evolves. Penguins are awesome.

Rowan and his assistant will head back home to Sandgem Town, leaving you and your rival to test out your newly acquired Pokemon. Both your Pokemon are level 5. If you chose Turtwig, he'll have Chimchar. If you have Chimchar, he'll have Piplup. If you have Piplup, he'll have Turtwig. Pokemon Level Type Moves Scratch Leer Pound Growl Tackle Withdraw

If you chose Turtwig: Rival Battle Chimchar Level 5 Fire

If you chose Chimchar: Piplup Level 5 Water

If you chose Piplup: Turtwig Level 5 Grass

Following the battle, you'll rest up at home and talk to your Mom. She'll give you the Running Shoes, which allows you to run at double speed by holding down the B button. Head outside and meet your rival at Route 201 again. He'll tell you to go to Lake Verity, so head west and he'll follow you. Standing at the lake's edge is none other than Cyrus, who will briefly acknowledge the two of you before leaving. You'll hear the cry of a legendary Pokemon, and then your rival will leave you to start journeying. Route 201 Wild Pokemon Pokemon Method Time Rate Bidoof (Lv 2 - 3) Bidoof (Lv 2 - 3) Kricketot

Sandgem Town You'll spot Rowan's assistant upon arriving in Sandgem Town. You'll be escorted inside where Rowan will assess your Pokemon, and allow you to keep it and name it. He'll ask you to help in his research and will give you a Pokedex to record information on any Pokemon you encounter. Leave the laboratory and Rowan will give you TM27 - Return as a parting gift. His assistant will show you the Pokemon Center, where you can heal your Pokemon and access your PC Storage boxes, as well as use Wifi and Wireless Functions, and the PokeMart, where you can purchase useful items for the road ahead. Rowan's assistant will then leave for Route 202. You, however, need to head back to Twinleaf to pick up some things from Mom. At home, you'll tell Mom of your big adventure ahead, and she'll give you the Journal key item to record your activities. Your rival's Mom will also give you a package to deliver to him. That's all for Twinleaf, so say your final goodbyes and head back to Route 202 to meet Rowan's assistant. On Route 202, you'll be given the traditional "How to catch a Pokemon" tutorial, and be awarded five Pokeballs for participation. Follow the path to Jubilife City. You'll encounter some trainers along the way, so don't be afraid to head back to Sandgem if you need to heal your Pokemon. POKEMON RANGER MANAPHY'S MISSION

Manaphy is one of the new special event Pokemon of Diamond and Pearl, and this special event involves Pokemon Ranger. Manaphy is programmed into Pokemon Ranger and can be accessed through unlocking a password screen and then entering the password. After the password is entered, you'll have to complete a new mission to recover Manaphy's Egg. It can then be transferred to Pokemon Diamond and Pearl by the DS' wireless functions. Click here for Manaphy's Psydex page.

First of all, the password screen can be unlocked by going to Ranger Net and holding R, X, and Left. If you don't have Ranger Net, you have to beat the main storyline first. Anyway, once that's done, the game will tell you that you've unlocked it, and you can check it out. Now, at the password screen, enter the password "P8M2-9D6F-43H7" for the US version or "Mg35-Cpb84FW8" for the UK version. The game will then tell you that you can access a new Ranger Net mission, so turn off the DS and go check it out. And now, here's a quick summary of the mission:

Recover the Precious Egg!

To start, Cameron finds the Manaphy egg washed up on Summerland's beach and gives it to Prof. Hastings. The professor gets excited and heads over to Ring Town to show the egg to everyone. On the way, he's attacked by some Go-Rock Squad grunts. So instead of presenting the egg to you, you have to go retrieve it with your usual partner, Lunick or Solana. You'll start off in Lyra Forest, and your objective is to find the Go-Rock Squad before they get away with Manaphy's egg. First off, head to your left and capture the Politoed. You can also capture a Torchic for its Assist later. Continue through the path until you reach some Graveler. Use Politoed's Soak on one to reveal a grunt, and you're in for a battle with the three Graveler. Carry on to find a the grunts with the egg, and you'll be attacked by four Rattata. Capture them and head to Krokka Tunnel. On the way is another grunt with four Zubat. Again, capture and continue. Also on your path is a Swellow; capture it for a little later. The next grunt has two Rattata and a Meowth. Now, you'll notice a Parasect that the grunts mistook for a mushroom. Use Swellow to reveal Parasect and force it to move to point to another path. Follow the grunts again, and yet another grunt has a Scyther. Go to the entrance to the tunnel to see the grunts with the egg go the wrong way. You get to face a few more grunts on your way through the path. The next grunt has a Politoed and three Zubat, and the one after has three Rattata. Now, if you didn't use Swellow on the Parasect yet, you'll start going in circles until you do. If you didn't at first, there's a last grunt with a Pupitar. Anyway, when you finally corner them, you'll have to face a Venusaur and two Scyther. To capture them, use the Torchic's Assist if you have one or just try focus on one Scyther at a time with your partner's Discharge. Then you can go for Venusaur, which shouldn't be very hard once it's alone. They'll run away, and you'll see Gordor. Luckily, he's caught the grunt with the egg, and give it back to you. Return to base to receive your thanks from everyone else. After some talking, the professor will hold the egg until you can transfer it to a Diamond or Pearl game.

but unfortunately." This will also let you send it to a Diamond or Pearl game when you get the opportunity. You can also try to do the mission once more. It also gives instructions on how to do the transfer. you can recheck Ranger Net and find a new option called "Check the Egg. you can't. so just follow those. All that will be shown is you checking up on the egg with the professor. So now after you're done the mission. .
