What is Merchandising?

Merchandising is an activity of procuring raw materials for


producing and selling and promoting the goods.

Objects of Merchandising: Merchandising denotes all the planned


activities to execute and dispatch the merchandise on time, taking
into consideration of the 4 Rs to replenish the customer.
> To dispatch Right quantity of product what buyers have ordered.
> It should be with Right quality as accepted both parties.
> To offer the Right price of the product.
> To ensure the delivery of goods on Right time.

Conclusion:

The RMG sector is expected to grow despite the


global financial crisis of 2009. So, the need for
experienced merchandisers are always increasing in
our country. The accurate productivity of an garment
manufacturing organization is rely on efficiency and
effectiveness of a knowledgeable merchandiser. So,
employer should concentrate on generate future
business managers by providing proper training and
development of managerial skills relating to
merchandiser function.

Recommendation:

> Develop and update current machineries to grab more


potential market share.
> To train and hold up efficient work forces by attractive
compensation policy, that will ensure quality and efficient
output in long run.
> To reduce lead time by introducing experienced
“management team” and build up strong 3rd party
relationship.
> On the job and off the job training facility can be
introduced for developing employee efficiency.
> Company website should be enriched with more updated
information.
