This authorisation is given in accordance with Regulation 12 of The Carriage of Dangerous
Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2009 (CDG2009).

PURPOSE

To permit the transport of Class 7 radioactive material using a Regular Transport Document
within Great Britain.

DEFINITION

A Regular Transport Document can only be used where the same packaging with the same
radioactive contents is consigned as a package on a regular basis by the same consignor,
who is also the carrier of that package.

SCOPE OF USE

This authorisation applies only to the same physical item being consigned on more than
one occasion.

TIME LIMIT

This authorisation comes into effect immediately and remains valid until September 2022
unless otherwise revoked.

AUTHORISATION

1. The carriage shall only take place by road within Great Britain.
2. The Regular Transport Document shall contain the information and follow the order
prescribed in ADR 5.4.1.1.1, ADR 5.4.1.2.5, considering ADR 5.1.5.4 as appropriate,
but may exclude the consignee name and address.
3. The document shall last for no longer than 3 months.
4. The document shall also include relevant tunnel codes as appropriate for the
package classification allocated.
5. The consignor shall also be the carrier of the package(s).
6. Radioactive material with a secondary UN classification shall not be carried.
7. The authorisation relates to civil carriage only.

8. The consignor shall maintain a log of destinations and dates for which the Regular
Consignment Document is used, and retain the Document for at least three months
after the date of the last entry.
9. All other requirements of CDG2009 and ADR apply.
