Appendices:
1. Bits of Information on Analysis
Question: When is work done?
Answer: Work is done only when a force succeeds in moving the object upon which it acts. When work is done it
is accompanied by a change in energy. When work is done by an object it loses energy and when work is done
on an object it gains energy.
2. Expected answers to the guide scenarios taken from the given application. (These are to be reflected to
real-life situations.)
 When people ask, “What is your work?” (They refer to a job or employment.)
 When people say, “I’ll meet you after work.” (They refer to the part of a day devoted to an occupation or
undertaking.)
 When your teacher asks, “Have you done your homework?” (They refer to the task or activity needed to
be accomplished.)

3. Examples of situations wherein work in physics is different from everyday usage: (Taken from the
assessment)
 A construction worker holding one end of a heavy load, a soldier guarding the Rizal Monument, an
inspector watching canned goods go by on a moving belt, or a secretary typing letters and
communication.
Note: The students are to bear in mind that in Physics, work is an abstract idea related to energy. Thus, work in
physics is different from everyday usage.
4. Guide questions taken from assignment (Reinforcing/Strengthening the day’s lesson)
What will be the result when work is done by an object? How about when work is done on an
object?
Expected answers:
 When work is done by an object it loses energy and when work is done on an object it gains energy.

5. Content of the prepared charts for the discussion points:

In Physics, work is an abstract idea related to energy. When work is done it is accompanied by a change in
energy. When work is done by an object it loses energy and when work is done on an object it gains energy.
