Criteria for Evaluating the Speaker (60%)

I. Analysis and Content (50%)

 Apparent knowledge of subject: in depth coverage, adequate interpretation, ability to interpret


information.
 Was the content informative?
 Was there sufficient use of logic, facts, examples, and/ or expert opinion?
 Was the information pertinent to the specific topic?

II. Organization (25%)

 Introduction

o Astounding Speaker background (affiliations, achievements, position in the organization).

o Timely arrival of Speaker in the venue.

 Body
o Satisfies minimum (45mins) and maximum (60mins) presentation time requirements.
o Did the speaker make effective internal summaries and transitions?
o Was there a logical progression of ideas?
 Conclusions
o Understanding of questions; clear, succinct and non-evasive answers.
o Was there a note of finality?

III. Delivery (25%)

 Language Style

o Was the language suitable to informing the audience?


o Was the delivery natural and spontaneous?

 Vocal Delivery

o Enunciation clear?
o Volume appropriate?

 Physical Delivery
