Mrs. Nelson’s Book Fair is coming to the SCCS library next week!
Monday, November 8th — Thursday, November 11th, 2010
Monday: Each elementary class will have a walk-through on Monday. Sales will begin on Monday at 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. Tuesday - Thursday: 8:00 a.m. — 4:00 p.m.
Students may shop at morning, afternoon and lunch recesses, as well as before or after school. Parents are welcome during all open hours starting Monday after school and all day on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Let us know if there are particular titles you would like and we can special order them!
Mrs. Nelson’s accepts cash, personal checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
A percentage of all proceeds from the book fair will benefit the SCCS Library.

A BIG THANKS to all who supported the Grandparents’ Day AdoptA-Book Sale at SCCS on Friday. Through your generosity, $709.00 in books were purchased for the school library on Friday! Students who had books adopted in their name will be getting these books checked out to them this week!

Funds for Fun is back!
Did your child bring home his/her plastic carton from school? If you or another family would like to collect loose change throughout the school year, there are a few more cartons at school in your child’s classroom.
This is a PTF ‘fun’draiser directly benefiting your child!
ALL collected change goes towards excellent and fun assemblies that enhance your childs experience here at SCCS. These enhancements may include updated playground equipment, ‘rainy-day’ activities/equip., special assemblies (African Acrobats, TnT Dunk Squad, etc.) The PTF will be collecting the Funds for Fun containers in the spring of 2011. Athletic Committee All parents are welcome to join our Athletic Committee. Volunteers We are so grateful to all those who have volunteered at our home games this season. You are a blessing to our coaches and teams when you help out with scoring, lines, chains, ticket sales, etc. Thank you for all your help and support. Playoffs Our varsity girl’s volleyball team and our football team have both made the playoffs but won’t know any playoff information until Sunday evening or Monday. As soon as the information becomes available to us, we will post it on the website immediately. Come watch these teams play and show your support. Elementary & Jr. High Sports Our elementary boy’s flag football team will be heading into playoffs next week. They are currently 2nd place in their league and are looking to make an upset during playoffs. Both the jr. high girl’s basketball team as well as the jr. high flag football team will also be heading to playoffs. The playoff games for them should be next week as well. As soon as we know when the games will be, we will post it on the website so you can come watch this fun team. Thank you to the elementary and jr. high cheerleaders for supporting our boys and cheering them on to victory. Winter Sports Our winter sports season is just about here. If you are interested in playing either high school basketball or soccer and you have not talked to the coaches yet, please do so asap. The practices for these sports are beginning soon and you won’t want to miss out. Our coaches are James Mosley - Boys Basketball, Troy Best - Girls Basketball, Steve Cooper - Boys Soccer and Matt Gale - Girls Soccer Fundraiser We love having banners supporting our school up in the gym during our home games and in our programs. There are female students that would like to come to our school but need host families as well. We have started the construction of our outdoor weight room and batting cages on campus. Some extra funds will be needed to purchase more equipment for this project like flooring, nets and pitching machines. The football team is in need of a trailer for First Ad/Restroom at The Masters College practice field. Operation Gratitude for our Hometown Hero’s
Next Thursday is Veteran’s Day, and we are blessed with the opportunity to give back to the Santa Clarita Valley men and women who serve in our military overseas. CSF will be collecting gifts each day next week that will be packaged and sent to them for Christmas. Collection will be in front of the nursery. We encourage you to send the following type gifts on the day designated:
