TABLE of CONTENTS
INTRODUCTION ............................................................................................................. 2
This e-book is not intended to be a substitute for a veterinarian’s care. This e-book
instructs animal caregivers about typical animal fears or discomforts and how to
communicate with their animals to discover hidden fears that may cause specific
misbehavior or wellness issues. The human caregiver, knowing the animal’s
discomfort, can then provide better care for the animal.
Animals, like humans, often have negative emotions and fears trapped in their energy
systems, as a result of traumas they’ve suffered. These trapped emotions can manifest
into physical or behavioral issues if not released.
By learning animal communication, you can find the hidden reasons for their
undesirable behavior, finicky eating or whatever is driving you, their human caregiver,
crazy!
You can try the animal communication techniques to connect with your pet whenever
you feel ready to begin. You might be amazed at the immediate results!
This e-book was written for the animals and those who love them. The
techniques are powerful. Use them at your own risk.
Wishing you and your precious animals much happiness and healing,
Colleen Flanagan

"The lesson for animal caregivers is this: Do your utmost to help your
pet remain in or return to his Comfort Zone.”
Animals experience positive and negative emotions that affect their health and behavior,
just like humans do. When animals feel uneasy for any reason, they have left their
comfort zones, usually NOT by choice but because of something humans have done.
By learning animal communication, you can discover your animal’s comfort zone
and know when they’re feeling discomfort or afraid. You will understand their
reasons for acting out or feeling ill, then take appropriate action.
Dr. McMillan (author of above quote) has helped thousands of animals and was
nicknamed the Veterinarian to the Hollywood Stars. He defines an animal’s comfort
zone as “a mental place in the animal’s adapted environment in which s/he is relatively
free from discomfort”.
Any animal’s primary goal is to return to the comfort zone as soon as possible in any
way necessary, including:
Fear of not being safe (the number one fear of most animals)
Fear of failure (to be a good animal or perform well and please you)
Fear of rejection or abandonment (by previous owners or you)
Fear of success (such as being adopted, leaving their comfort zone)
Fear that the frightening conditions will never end, such as being in a stressful
environment for a long time as a stray, re-homed or abandoned and left in a
shelter

Animals, like children, may act out because they are suffering from allergies,
sensitivities or intolerances. They don’t know what’s wrong; they just know that they
feel extremely uncomfortable or like jumping out of their skin.
Animals’ immune systems know that chemicals are harmful to their bodies and may
react to things we think are harmless such as:
If you correct an allergic condition, you can help an animal return to its comfort zone.
Are you still wondering about the fears causing your pet’s condition?
When I ask my human clients to tell me if any changes have recently occurred in the
household that might stress out their animals, they often reply “None.” Later I find out
that they’ve moved to a new home, a new animal or human has been brought into the
home or left the home. Change takes animals out of their comfort zone.

Your pet may not display fearful behavior when brought home or after a change
happened. Their instincts tell them that to act afraid will make them
vulnerable to attack by predators.
The animal’s energy system may have blocks in it that are layers then triggered
again with each change that the animal experiences.
Their senses of hearing, smell and sight are far better than ours. Animals may
act out to things that terrify them but we cannot sense.

Louse L. Hay’s books, “You Can Heal Your Life” or “Heal Your Body A-Z: The Mental
Causes for Physical Illness and the Way to Overcome Them” (Hay House Publishers)
are my favorite sources and available through the “Products” web page on my site:
www.EmoRescue.com.
I’ve found that animals store their fears in body parts and manifest physical
illnesses just like we do, for example:

I love
you!
I love
you
too!
If you’ve read the previous pages, you now know WHAT issues may be making your
animal friend feel unsafe and out of their comfort zone.
Give yourself and your beloved pets the gift of communication to know how they
feel about their lives, their names, their food and their comfort zones.
Got objections or fears about communicating with your animals? Maybe you’re saying
to yourself that:
I had some of these fears, too. I decided that the ability to converse with my animal
clients to help them was far more important, so I released all my fears. When I thought
about being an effective animal communicator and felt excited rather than anxious, I
knew I was ready to begin.
The very next day, I experimented by communicating with the wild animals on my
morning desert walk. It worked!
Am pleased to report that animals are often more polite than humans and rarely talk to
humans unless the human initiates the conversation first.

Animal Communication, Animal Healing
Most pet owners believe that their animals understand some or maybe all of their
feelings and words. Many animal communicators confirm that pets can see the pictures
in our minds and also send mental images to communicate with us.
Animal problems can worsen if you focus on and imagine the animal’s
misbehavior instead of the solution.
Your animal friend likely saw that image and may have taken it as a command or
suggestion from you. The animal may be very puzzled as to why they are
punished when you get home for doing something you requested of them.
When training an animal, focus on what you want them to do and don’t think
about any past mistakes. Better yet, consciously SEND PICTURES to your
animals in a gentle, kind, love way of what you’d like them to do.
For example:
Have you ever been going home from a long day at work and imagined
with dread that the cat or dog has chewed your shoes again or eliminated on
the carpet…then come home to find it really happened?
You’ve been exchanging pictures with your pet for years and didn’t even realize it!

1. Release ANY fears or anxieties you have about communicating with animals.
2. Spend a few minutes of quiet time de-stressing from any fears or anxiety you
have from the office or life in general. When relaxed, approach your animal.
Spend some quality alone-time with your animal, telling your animal friend how
much you love and appreciate him or her.
3. If comfortable, visualize an energy link of pure love flowing from your heart to
the animal’s heart. Feel the tender, warm love flowing between you both.
5. Keep a completely OPEN MIND and KNOW that your pet CAN see the pictures
in your mind. S/he may understand your words then communicate back to you
by phrases, feelings, noises, visions, colors or symbols.
6. State your intention to the animal, e.g., I don’t want to control you through this
communication. I want to help you feel better. I want to understand what I can
do to make your life more joyful, playful and healthy.
7. When you first begin your communications, consider starting out with the
below first few easy questions for you both. You would ask the question, imagine
the answer and send it in an imaginary bubble to your pet.
I’ve been
waiting to
talk with you
forever!

8. Remain silent and alert for an answer that may come via:
A mental picture reply from your pet, such as a picture of a toy, food or
being groomed
Words echoing in your mind such as “Help me! I’m afraid! My back leg
hurts when I walk!”
A twisting or pulling in your torso or throat or other body part, which may
indicate fear or illness
A feeling of weakness or sudden energy drain, which is how the animal
feels
A brief stab of pain or wave of nausea, which may indicate where the illness
is located
How do you know that you’re not “making up” your answer? Intuitive answers
usually have one or more of the below characteristics:
9. When you’ve gathered the information you need from your animal, thank him or
her for their help and tell the animal how much you appreciate their
communicating with you and how much you love him or her.
10. Disconnect your heart energy from theirs. This is necessary so you don’t
exchange feelings and energy until your next communication session.
TIP: You may want to immediately write down everything you experienced during
the communication exchange as you may have several issues to follow-up on,
including a change of name or food variety, a veterinarian visit.
Can we play
and cuddle
more when you
come home?

As I mentally started to ask, “What’s your n—“, a high, female voice replied, “Silky. I am
Silky.” I’d assumed the bird was male and I would never name a bird Silky.
Based on those facts and that the reply came before I even asked the question, I knew
the answer came from the pigeon.
I decided to see what was on his mind, why he always ran from me.
I pictured myself during one of my volunteer stints at the local Humane Society’s cat
room, petting, brushing and feeding treats to cats and kittens. I sent an imaginary
bubble with my pictures to the cat’s mind to let him know I meant no harm to him.
Immediately his head popped out from the bushes, a quizzical look in his eyes. I sent
another bubble picture to him of me petting him while he felt safe and loved.
He ran up to me! I think we were both surprised as he rubbed up against my legs and
let me pet him. Now, whenever this tomcat sees me, he either runs up to me to be
petted or rolls over on the sidewalk in my path, mewing in anticipated pleasure of my
petting him. He told me his name is Shane, a name I’d never give a cat.
Thank you Silky and Shane for mentoring this human on animal communication!

Animal Communication, Animal Healing
1. CLEAR YOUR ENERGY SYSTEM: Use any energy clearing modality to release
any doubts, blockages or negative emotions that may arise about your ability or
worthiness to connect to your animal’s energy system and talk with them or
exchange pictures.
3. BE SPECIFIC: The more specific you are with your questions, the more likely
you will receive correct answers.
5. STAY HYDRATED: Drink plenty of water, which conducts your body’s electric
energy and provides a solid connection with body, mind and spirit.
6. SHOW RESPECT: Use "Please" and "Thank you" and “I love you, my friend!”
7. RESPECT THEIR SPACE: Request information, don't demand it. Animals have
bad days like we do and may not want to communicate. If the animal doesn’t
seem interested, try again later or the next day.
9. STAY FOCUSED: Concentrate on the question you are asking rather than the
possible answers.
12. BREATHE: Take a few deep breaths before you begin then use the power of
your breath to keep yourself centered and relaxed.
