 President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is one of the most prominent president,

he belong to the most influential person in the world, Because of his brave and

dedication to fight drugs and corruption. He is the 16th president of the Philippines

and first from mindanao the southernmost major island group of the country. On

October 20, 2016 President Rodrigo Roa Duterte delivered his Speech at the great

hall of the people in Beijing China. The Speech is all about Philippine- China Trade

and Investment Forum. In his speech he discuss the trait of Filipino’s and Compare it

to the western Countries. Their Speech is All about Building Connection in China and

Separation to the United States of America. The concern of his speech is more on

peace process, Environmental, Governance, Sports and Marawi crisis.

As a listener we need to observed if the speaker used the Five Principles

of Effective oral Communication in delivering speech. The first Principles of Effective

oral communication is Be clear with your purpose. I can say that President Rodrigo

Roa Duterte is able to used it in his speech in China. I see the main purpose of

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte which is to build Stronger Connection in China and

Developed the Trade and Investments between China and Philippines.The second

principle of effective communication is ''Be complete with the message you deliver'' I

can say that he delivered the Speech Completely because he is able to express their

feeling and opinion, And he catch the attention of the audience and applauses him in

his Speech. The third Principle of effective oral communication is "Be concise'' Using

the few words he is able to convince the people that China and Philippines can be a

good partner’s in terms of trades and investments, Because of their Similarities in

many ways. The fourth Principle of effective oral communication is "Be natural with

your delivery" President Rodrigo Roa Duterte delivered his Speech in Natural way.

Just like he speak in public, the volume of his voice is very natural. And he says what
he want to say he don’t afraid to the reaction of people who can hear on what he

says in their speech. The fifth principles of effective oral communication is "Be

specific and timely with your feed The speech is very Timely because he discuss the

relevant information which is actually happen today and he delivered it Specifically,

because he start in simple things into complicated. He focused on Specific things like

Home, Peace process and mindaviews, business, Environment, Governance, Sports

and Crisis.

I can say that President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is a great Speaker because

he used the Five Principes of Effective oral communication in his speech which is

very important in oral communication and he is able to convince the people using

their words and action. And the way he speaks Courageously. My advice is to

remove or less the bad words that he says in speech. Although he became famous

because of using bad words, but as a president of the Philippines he needs to use

formal Language.
