SAMPLE PAPER AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR CANDIDATES

GAT Test: For Admissions in Ph.D and M.Phil /M.Sc (Hons) / M.S or equivalent Degree
Programs.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CANDIDATES

1. The Admission Test (GAT General/Gat Subject) will be conducted by the


University of Haripur. Test will be prepared and marked through an automated
process of computer. This is to ensure transparency in admission process.
2. Students are directed to read these instructions carefully because errors in filling
out the answer sheet cannot be later on corrected.
3. Students are requested to bring the following items on the day of the test:

1. Admit Card (ID Number) provided by the Directorate of ASRB.


Thin Tip Black Marker (Dollar Sketch line marker)
Clip Board to hold the Answer Sheet.

4. Your ID Number (Roll No), Name & Test Form (Paper Version A, B, C or D) is
already filled on Pink Answer Sheet.

5. Students are requested to take care of the Answer Sheet. i.e., do not bend or fold it
etc.

6. Total questions are 100, all are compulsory, all carry equal marks. There will be no
negative marking on wrong answer.

7. Test time is 100 minutes.

8. Pass Marks for qualifying the Admission Test conducted by UoH are 50% for
M.Phil and Equivalent degree programs and 70% for Ph.D degree programs OR
submit a valid qualified (60% marks for Ph.D and 50 % for M.S/M.Phil) result card of
equivalent test conducted by ETC/HEC or NTS.

9. We need your cooperation in following these instructions as well as instructions


given you before the test in order to conduct the test smoothly.

10. The paper will be self-explanatory and we believe that you have studied and
understood all instructions; therefore no question will be entertained during the
test.

11. During the test, do not talk, whisper, or turn your eyes or head away from your own
paper. Any evidence of cheating or non-compliance with the instructions will
disqualify you from the Test.

12. More than one answer of the same question will be considered wrong.
13. Be sure before you fill your answer box, because once you do that, it cannot be
changed.

14. DO NOT use any type of ERASER or any covering fluids. Any attempts to erase a
mark can result in damaging the sheet and hence it will not be marked correctly.

15. Use of Mobile Phones, calculators, calculator watches, scientific or mathematical


tables and other electronic device is not allowed.

16. Please use the ROUGH WORK sheet given at the end of question paper for rough
work. Do not detach any sheet from the question paper.

17. DO NOT write at the back of the answer sheet.

COMPOSITION AND STRUCTURE OF PAPER:
I. M.Phil and equivalent degree programs: (GAT General) 70 percent
questions shall be from all the disciplines mentioned in the eligibility criteria
and 30 percent from general ability (10% from English/Arabic, 10% from
general knowledge and 10% analytical/quantitative ability).
II. Ph.D degree programs: (GAT Subject) 80% questions shall be from the
subject, 10% from research techniques and 10% from technical writing.

Total questions to be answered are 100. Total Marks: 100 (all questions carry equal
marks). Test time: 100 minutes.

University of Haripur has provided this Sample Admission Test as a guide for the
applicants; the contents of this paper do not truly reflect the contents of the admission test.
Candidates are advised to treat this section only as a guideline. This sample test also does
not reflect the standard of difficulty of the admission test.
