GREETING FROM IGES PRESIDENT
Dear colleague,

I am so excited to see you all at the 8th Indonesian Gynecological Endoscopy Society Annual Congress. We
have given our efforts and desire to bring science to this part of the world especially Indonesia and dream to
make 8th IGES an unmissable event for the development of Minimally Invasive Surgery.

As time goes by there are also many new cases regarding fertility and reproductive surgery, urogynecologic
surgery, oncology surgery, and endoscopy surgery. Proper handling is very important for the above cases,
so we need to have understanding and share the knowledge of the up to date information, technology, and
treatment available for our patients and also to improve the future care of our patients.

Through this congress, we will upgrade our skill and knowledge through discussion and sharing with the
faculties, surgeons, and industries. Let’s learn together and enjoy the beautiful city as well as the tasteful
pempek in Palembang.

GREETING FROM THE CHAIRMAN
Dear colleague,

Let us thank God for the blessings, guidance, and good health. It is a great pleasure to
welcome you all to The 8th Indonesian Gynecological Endoscopy Society Annual
Congress. As the General Chairman of this Congress, I may say it is an honor for us to
provide such event which gathers world-class endoscopists from all over the world and
workshops conducted by experts in their elds.

Palembang – the capital of South Sumatra Province – is one of Indonesia largest city in
Sumatra Island. Palembang is a multicultural city with the presence of Chinese, Arab, and
Indian descent. These diverse cultural backgrounds characterize the appearance of Palembang today. It can
be seen from the architecture, traditional dance and costume as well as local language, which absorb the
culture of coastal Malays, Javanese, Indian, Arab, and Chinese among others. One of the evidence of
multiculturalism is the Grand Mosque of Palembang, which architecture combination of Chinese style tower
that is still preserved as original until today.

The Musi River, a core economic entry as well as the icon of Palembang is the longest, 750 kilometers
Sumatran river. Along the riverbank, we could nd many interesting tourism sites such as Ampera Bridge,
Kuto Besak Fortress, Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Museum, Kemaro Island, Ilir 16 Market, Rumah Rakit,
Bagus Kuning Beach, and Mosque Al Munawar. Other fascinating sites are Cheng Ho Mosque and Arab
Village. As for food and shopping, Palembang is a treasure to nd the best gold and silver songket cloths, and
you must not miss trying the city’s signature traditional dish, Pempek.

We are very proud of our beautiful city as it has hosted multiple major multinational sports events such as
2007 AFC Asian Cup, 2011 SEA Games, 2013 Islamic Solitary Games, and other minor events such as Asia
Pacic Beach Volleyball Championship, 2017 Asian Triathlon, Musi Run 10K, and 37+ other international
sports events. Asian Games 2018 was held in Palembang along with Jakarta. To travel around the city, you
can ride the rst light rail system in Indonesia that operated since July 2018.

Hopefully, this congress will provide a favorable occasion for valuable discussion on techniques,
innovations, minimally invasive approaches, surgical skill, instrumentation, and technology in surgery.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Palembang,

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
3. Instructions for Paper Abstracts and Poster Abstracts
IGES requires a structured abstract which includes the following segments:

Begin with a clear, concise statement of the precise objective or question presented
Objective
in the study.

Indicate the measurement(s) of primary study outcome which has been planned
before data collection begins. If the manuscript does not report the main planned-
outcomes of a study, this fact should be stated and the reason should be indicated.
Methods
State clearly whether the hypothesis, which was being tested, was formulated during
or after data collection. Explain some outcomes or measurements which might be
unfamiliar to the general medical readership.

Describe the methods of assessing patients and state the key results; this section
Results must include data, even if preliminary.

State clearly the conclusions and clinical applications that are supported by the data.
Conclusion Advice, if additional study is required before this information, should be used in
clinical settings.

• Deadline to submit your slide presentation, e-poster, and video : September 27th, 2019. If you haven’t sent
yours to our email igesawards2019@gmail.com after September 27th, please bring the le and give to the
slide counter / operator in the Congress 2 hours before your session .
• Video le with highest likes and Comment in Youtube will get extra points.
