USL Golden Jubilee Mascot Design Contest

1. Anyone is qualified to submit strictly original Mascot design for the USL Golden Jubilee
Celebration.
2. The entry for the event should be submitted to the Screening Committee on or before
December 20, 2014.
3. A participant may submit as many entries as possible. Submitted entries may not be returned
to the participants.
4. An entry should either be manual drafted or digitalized format.
5. An entry should be printed on an A4 size bond paper. The participant should write and sign
his/her name at the back page of the entry.
6. There is no restriction on the number of colors for the Mascot design. If digitalized, the
design should be drawn/illustrated preferably using Photoshop and/or Illustrator.
7. A brief description or rationale explaining the components of the Mascot should be included
in the entry. It should be encoded on a separate A4 size bond paper.
8. The Mascot design should be in accordance with the theme: USL@50: Devoted to Mission
and Committed to Excellence. These are the only wordings allowed to be included in the
design.
9. Each entry should be accompanied by a duly filled-out waiver that is provided by the
Screening Committee. The waiver may be downloaded from the USL website. All entries
should be submitted to any of the following members of the Screening Committee:

a. Fr. Rex Salvilla, CICM – Executive Assistant to the President


b. IDr. Melissa Caronan – Interior Design Department Head (Office at K46)
c. Miss Mary Ann Baquiran – High School Principal

10. By joining the competition, the participant declares that the Mascot design submitted is
his/her original work, has not been submitted to any other competition, and does not infringe
on any third party’s existing copyright. Any complaints that may arise due to similarities,
likeness or comparison of the design would be the accountability of the participant as he/she
would be responsible to prove its authenticity.
11. The Mascot Design Contest shall be judged according to the following criteria:

a. Relevance to the theme 40%


b. Originality 30%
c. Creativity and workability 20%
d. Visual impact 10%

12. One winner will be chosen in the contest and will receive a cash prize of Three Thousand
Pesos (P3000.00).
13. The winning entry will automatically become the intellectual property of USL.
14. The USL Administration has the right to edit the winning entry.
