• Trip, monitoring and alarm output terminals
The DUT series has each output for trip, alarm (continuous
monitoring error) and external alarm indication. When auxiliary
energizing source is turned off, the alarm contact and LED display
momentarily turns on and lights, respectively, but this
phenomenon is not abnormal. For avoiding the momentary alarm
contact output, an on-delay timer should be connected externally.
Refer to the application circuit example of overcurrent relay shown
in Fig. 4.
• Continuous monitoring functions
The continuous monitoring output (external terminals 14-15) is
important to check the relay abnormality earlier. Install and use
the alarm output externally. (Refer to Fig.4 application circuit
example of overcurrent relay).
If the alarm circuit can not be installed, check the display status of
the relay setting panel.

<Cautions in selecting a model succeeding conventional ones>

Notes *1:Since the number of external terminals of the control circuit of the case is different from that of conventional models
(Conventional models: 10, this model: 12), the relay element cannot be mounted to the case of conventional models. When updating conventional models,
replace them along with the case.
*2:The rating of the control power supply of this relay: 100V, 110V, and 125V DC
*3:When selecting a model succeeding conventional 1OCR or 2OCR model, connect the input phase required for this model, 3OCR or 2OCR, to the external
terminal.
(Since the trip output of this model is “OR output of each phase”, 1 or 2 input only is applicable.)
*4:For conventional “EFR without instantaneous element” model, select “DUTSESS□-1 (3OCR+EFR)”, set the inverse time and instantaneous elements of
3OCR to “Lock setting”, and operate the relay with EFR only.
*5:For conventional “EFR with instantaneous element” model, select “DUTSESS□-1 (3OCR+EFR), set the inverse time element of 3OCR to “Lock setting”,
and operate the relay with OCR instantaneous element and EFR only.
*6:The outside dimensions of the case of conventional 2nd to 5th generation models and those of the case of this relay are the same. The outside dimensions
of the case of the 1st generation model only are different.

DRAW Series
Protective relays

DRAW Series is made up of two types: undercurrent relays and (5) The auxiliary energizing source can be selected from 100 to

These electrical relays are the alternating current electrical relays (Input frequency for AC control power supply uses 50/60 Hz in

The DRAW Series has the following features. (6) The series uses the structure that allows surface-mounting on

The DRAW Series protective relays are standardized as the following two models.
Name Application Type
Static type undercurrent relay Undercurrent or disconnection detection in AC circuit DRAWN5SA
Static type current-limit relay Current-limit starting of AC wound-rotor motor DRAWN6SA
* Previously, there were several models with separated stabilization section (no stabilization dial provided but external support is required) in the DRAW Series, but now only the
integrated stabilization models (stabilization dial provided as standard) are currently commercialized.

TELR series
Control relay

The TELR control relay series, a successor to the conventional • Since the plug-in structure and terminals of the conventional
DRHH-series assembly plug-in units, include auxiliary relays, a DRHH-series relays are adopted, the relay can be stored in a
keep relay, and time-lag relays. case for the conventional DRHH-series assembly plug-in relays
Since this relay has an external shape and terminal socket (DQBA2, DQBD1, etc.)
equivalent to those of the conventional DRHH-series assembly • The relay has performance equivalent to that of conventional
plug-in units, replacement is easy. DRHH-series relays, conforming to the JEC-2500 (1987) power
Since the TELR series keep relay has a different internal circuit relay, JEC-174D (1979) power auxiliary relay, and JEC-174E
structure than the conventional DRKH series models, refer to the (1980) power time-lag relay standards.

■Notes for updating to the TELR series keep relay

The input terminals of the operating (first) coil and resetting (second) coil of the TELR series keep relay are polarized and feature a
terminal structure that is common with the Nos. 2 to 4 input terminals (negative polarity). For this reason, these TELR series characteristics
are different from those of the conventional DRKH series models.
When updating the conventional DRKHB series models, pay particular attention to the polarity of the input terminals of these coils. If the
No. 2 and No. 4 input terminals are used as + polarity in the conventional model wiring, be sure to change the wiring.

*1:The field circuit is equipped with an external auxiliary power source box (type : ■External auxiliary power source box : YZ14-2
YZ14-2) for supplying DC voltage, which is connected externally to the DC
current input circuit of the relay. 185
*2:An external auxiliary power source box (type : YZ14-2) is supplied with this 120 4-ø7 100
relay. Specify the rating of the control power supply voltage (AC) from those
listed in the specification. Install the external auxiliary power source box within
the distribution board and keep the length of the connecting wiring with the DC
overcurrent relay as short as possible, taking the effect of disturbance noise
into consideration.
*3:Its noise immunity complies with the standard B-402.
*4:Refer to the identification on page 8 for the tenth digit or later of the code
symbol.
*5:The output duration of 1±0.1s is used in the case of the circuit breaker tripping,
and that of 0.2±0.1s is used on other occasions.
*6:Since power outage guarantee time of AC rating auxiliary energizing source is
271

2 seconds, if the sum of operate time from the relay to the CB and resetting
time of the relay exceeds 2 seconds, it is required to provide a auxiliary
energizing source whose voltage does not drop even in case of an accident.
Note, however, that there may be such cases where the time exceeds 2
seconds depending on input condition or operation status of the relay.
*7:When the 8th digit of the type designation is "S" or "K", both LED and magnetic

of the type designation is "A", LED dose not have indication holding function. Name plate
*8:Since the outside dimension of the relay case does not fit the conventional

Notes
*1:Note 1: Since the relay can be stored in a grouped plug-in type relay case for the conventional DRHH series (vertical case: DQBA2, DQBD1; horizontal case:
DSBA1, DSBB1), the relay can be replaced keeping the conventional wiring as is.
*2:Applicable voltage of contacts : 24 to 220V
*3:By installing external wiring to the secondary coil (to maintain a short circuit), as shown in the following circuit configurations 1 and 2, the operating time can
be changed.

■Notes for updating to the TELR series keep relay

The input terminals of the operating (first) coil and resetting (second) coil of the TELR series keep relay are polarized and feature a
terminal structure that is common with the Nos. 2 to 4 input terminals (negative polarity). For this reason, these TELR series characteris-
tics are different from those of the conventional DRKH series models.
When updating the conventional DRKHB series models, pay particular attention to the polarity of the input terminals of these coils. If the
No. 2 and No. 4 input terminals are used as + polarity in the conventional model wiring, be sure to change the wiring.

Operating precautions
(1) Do not touch the patterns and circuit parts of the printed board as far as possible. Do not allow easily chargeable clothes and gloves to come into contact with the
printed board.
(2) Ensure the relay is not exposed to any strong impact or external force during handling or transportation.
(3) Pay special attention to the heating of the storage case whenever the relay is activated.
(4) When the relay is to be operated repetitively, ensure a pause longer than the resetting time (120 ms).
(5) Do not operate the setting knob while the operate time is being measured to prevent any measurement error from occurring.
