 Executive Summary

This report is prepared as a partial fulfillment for the insurance and Risk management course of
the department of Marketing under Jahangirnagar University. This report focuses on Analysis of
marketing activities of City General insurance company limited. This report will give a clear idea
about City General Insurance limited. The report contains two main parts.

In our first part we have explained City General insurance company overview and shows their
shareholding position and vision mission of the company and their different kinds of services
provided by the company.

In the second part we have analysis city general insurance companies marketing strategy from
different aspects as Fire insurance, Marine insurance, Motor insurance, Engineering insurance and
Miscellaneous insurance.

In the third part we have put a conclusion and recommendation for City General insurance limited.

At last we have attached the questionnaire of our visit to the company according to the chapter.
 Company Overview
City General Insurance Company Limited is a second generation non-life Insurance Company
incorporated as public limited company on March 18, 1996 under the companies Act 1994. The
company obtained the certificate of Registration from the Chief Controller of Insurance Govt. of
The People’s Republic of Bangladesh on March 31, 1996 for carrying Insurance business such as
Fire, Marine, Motor & Miscellaneous insurance. Later the company has been listed with Dhaka
and Chittagong Stock Exchanges in last of 2007. It has now 66 branches across the country. Its
Authorized capital is Tk. 2000.00 Million and paid-up capital is Tk. 619.69 Million Mr. Anwar
Hossain is Chairman of the company. He is a renowned businessman and the Group Chairman of
Anwar Group of Industries. He is a former Member of Parliament.
