CHAPTER V

SUMMARY,CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter presents the summary of findings, the conclusion drawn from the research

findings and some recommendations based on the conclusion made.

Summary

The main objectives of this research study were to determine the impressions of the

students to mathematics subjects and its implication to learning. The importance of

mathematics subject to students. And the impressions that affect the students learning

mathematics. Purposive sampling is used in this research because in their technique the

researcher relies on his or her own judgment when choosing members of population to

participate in the study. The interview was conducted at Sanchez Mira School of Arts

and Trades .The number of respondents who took part in this research was 7. The

findings of this study are based on the interpretation and analysis of data obtained

through the process of semi-structured interviews of six participants.

As expected, the difficult analysis of the participants’ response as a main theme

that across interviews. Some participants reported that Mathematics is difficult for them;

however the findings showed that the impressions towards Mathematics is hard. As the

findings of this study highlight the first impressions of the participants to mathematics

subjects; Hard, Interesting, Fun, Difficult.

As it helps in daily life analysis of the participants’ response as a theme that across

interviews. Some participants reported that Mathematics is important in our daily life.

Indeed the findings showed the reason why Mathematics is important in our daily life. As

the findings of this study highlight the importance of Mathematics subject to students;

widen our knowledge, it helps us to build of one’s business, it improves logical, critical

and analytical thinking, and it helps us to learn and have a lot of knowledge in

Mathematics.

Impressions that affect the students learning Mathematics emerged as the main

theme across all six interviews. All participants reported that The impression that affect

the Students Learning Mathematics is lack of knowledge. As the findings of this study

highlight Impressions that affect the students learning Mathematics; The taught that

mathematics is difficult, Attitude, Teacher affective support.

Conclusion

The findings of this research are relevant to the wider study of the impressions of

the students to mathematics subjects and its implication to learning. The importance of

Mathematics makes our life orderly and prevents chaos. Certain qualities that are

nurtured by mathematics are power of reasoning, creativity, abstract or spatial thinking,

critical thinking, problem-solving ability and even effective communication skills. To

learn mathematics is a powerful tool with many applications. Advanced mathematical

training can lead to many career opportunities, including business, finance, medicine,

engineering, and basic sciences. At the same time, mathematics is a self-contained

subject that is worth studying simply for its elegance. This study highlighted that the

impressions of mathematics to students, but its difficult was noticeably differently

between participants, with both negative and positive outcomes.

Recommendations

In lights of the findings and conclusion of this study, the following

recommendations concluded in order to; First, it was then significance to students to

know more and understand mathematics well in order for them not get rid on the

upcoming formulas or new formulas to them. It will also motivate them and help them on

how what should be most valuable actions on subject mathematics and conclude things in

easiest ways. Second, it will give importance to teachers through teaching. In this way

teachers will know the most prominent form on teaching the way student will understand

well the new formulas as well as faster analysis to the students. This may contribute an

easy cycle the way student will learn to teachers and teachers may learn to students.

Lastly, it will motivate the incoming student math teachers to be more approachable and

being positive that mathematics subject has a solution to be not feared of that in learning

presence of minds as well as determination will be the key.
