MALNUTRISYON

1stplace (Nutrition Month Feature Writing-Filipino)

Jenny Mae Segura

Habang naglalakad, may nakita kaming

alagaan.”

I Shall Not Concede

by Gabrielle Frasco

You may try to abase me

Nevertheless I shall evade every derision

Every launch I always see

I'll barricade it with my strength and concentration

I shan't ask you to act so ingratiating,

But do not show your vexatious angle.

For I ,too, am not a fair living being

I ,too, embrace a side that is spiteful

But being an individual that I am

Can show you a selfsame demeanour

A face which I show to my chum

And that is an action shown succor

So whatever trial I may attain

I shall welcome and not renege

And every challenge I will reclaim

For I will say "I shall not concede!"

The Girl and the Mirror

by Mizpah Aral

She looked at the mirror with curiosity,

It appeared out of nowhere like a mystery.

The metallic body shining so bright,

Its gleam standing out in the dark night.

She stared at it with great admiration,

Tried to touch it with hesitation.

Her fingers touching the cold glass,

Her right hand holding frame made of brass.

Her fingers entered the inside of the mirror,

She jumped back, her face full of shock and horror.

Imagining the following adventures and stories,

She entered the mirror and left the world that's filled with worries.
