1. Introduction
VAHAN is the flagship e-Governance application under National Transport Project, a Mission Mode
Project initiated in year 2006. The purpose of the application is to automate the RTO operations
related to Vehicle Registration, Permit, Taxation, and Enforcement in the whole country.

Vahan eService
Open the URL: https://vahan.parivahan.gov.in/vahaneservice/in the browser, to access the “VAHAN

eSERVICE” application.
When home page opens, user will have option to login or register into application.
Following screen will appear: -
2. Registration
Through this tab, user can register to the application an avail all Private and Commercial vehicle related
services.

 Click on the Register, User Registration form will display.
To register do the following steps: -

 Enter Full Name

 Enter Email ID
 Enter Mobile Number
 Select State
 Enter Captcha
.
 Click on Register button, successful message will display.
Now user will login into Email Id which he/she has provided into Registration form. User will get one time
password in email as shown in below screen: -

 Click on “Verify Your Account”
 Enter OTP
 Enter Password
 Enter Confirm Password
 Click on Change Password
Now user will able to login using user Id and password.

3. User Login
To login, click on Login, User login form will display
 Enter User ID
 Enter Password
 Enter Captcha Code
 Click on Login, User will get Login

There are following modules in a Userprofile:

 Dashboard
 Online Services
 Online Permit
 Other Services
 Status
3.1 Dashboard
Here Applications which are in draft mode will display.
There are three actions provided i.e. Edit, Delete and click to view summary. User can perform the action
by clicking on the respected icons.
Edit – On click on edit, user will be able to complete the application.

There are following sub modules of Online Services
 Pay Vehicle Tax
 Update Mobile No
 Vehicle Related Services
 Application for No Objection Certificate (NOC)
 Alteration of Vehicle
 RC Particulars
 Renewal of Fitness Certificate
 Duplicate Fitness Certificate

3.2.1 Pay Your Tax

Here user will pay tax.
To pay Tax user should have Registration number and last five digits of chassis no.

 Enter Registration Number

 Enter Chassis Number
 Click on Generate OTP. On registered mobile number, OTP will receive.
 Enter OTP
 Click on Submit Button
 Select Tax Mode

Mode
 Select the Tax Mode. According to selected tax mode, Total Payable amount will display.
 Click on Submit

 Click on confirm payment.
To view the Owner Detail, click on Plus (+) sign

3.2.2 Update Mobile Number

Applicants can update their profile password through this feature.
Step are as follows
 Enter Vehicle number,
 Last 5 characters of chassis number
 Last 5 character of engine number

Click on Generate OTP and follow the process
Enter OTP received in new mobile number and submit the form
3.2.3 Vehicle Related Services

 Click on Generate OTP, OTP will receive on Mobile No.

 Enter OTP

 Click on Submit Button, Owner Detail screen will display.
 Click on Next

 Select single or multiple services

 Click on Submit button, Status will display as shown in figure below:
 Click on the Service, respected screen will display.

 Select Reason
 Enter Reason
 Enter FIR No
 Enter FIR Date
 Enter Police Station
 Click on Submit button
Appointment: - Here user can book the appointment

DMS (Upload Docs): -Here user can upload the documents.
Insurance Details: - Here user can update the insurance details.

Fees Detail:-Here user can make the payment.

 Click on Fees Detail, related screen will display.
3.2.4 Application for No Objection Certificate (NOC)

 Enter Registration No & Chassis No (Last 5 digits)
 Enter OTP and Click on Submit

Here user can take the print out of receipt/forms
 Select Application Type
 Enter Registration No
 Chassis No (Last 5 digits)
 Click on Submit
3.5.2 Check Pending Transaction

Here user can check the status of e-payment transaction.
 Click on Submit button
