Piano (for Bachelor of Music Degree Programme) Applicants are required to perform one selection from each of the

following five groups:

One Etude by Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninov, Debussy, Scriabin, Bartok, Stravinsky, Moszkowski, Prokofiev, Ligeti or Bolcom. Any Prelude & Fugue chosen from the Well Tempered Clavier by J.S. Bach A complete Sonata by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, or Clementi A major work from the Romantic period* A representative work from the 20th century to the present* No exceptions or substitutions will be permitted for the above requirements. All audition repertoire must be performed from memory. No concerti or transcriptions are permitted. The applicant may be asked to play scales and arpeggios, and the examination may also include sight -reading of a short musical excerpt. Any remaining questions regarding repertoire can be addressed to the Head of Piano Studies At the time of the audition, applicants will be asked to submit a list of works studied within the last three years to the audition panel. (for Graduate Diploma in Piano Performance) Applicants should prepare a 60-minute, memorized recital program offering contrasting styles from at least three different periods, and including a complete sonata by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, or Clementi. No concerti are permitted. Candidates are also asked to submit a list of the works studied within the past four years to the audition panel. The repertoire list should be presented to the conservatory piano faculty at the time of the audition.
