What is a non- communicable disease?

Development of the Lesson

A. ACTIVITY
Let the students watch a video presentation about the different non-communicable
diseases. Discuss further.

B. ANALYSIS
Ask the students the following question/s
1. What can you say about the video presented?
2. Based on the video presented, what are the cause and effect, and symptoms of the
following diseases?
a. Allergy
b. Asthma
c. Cancer
d. Diabetes
e. Cardio vascular diseases
f. Kidney failure

C. ABSTRACTION
a. Describe each non-communicable disease.
b. What are the risk factors and protective factors of these diseases?
c. How can we prevent these diseases?

D. APPLICATION
Ask the students to name some of the non-communicable diseases that they know.
Let them share about their experiences about these diseases.

IV. Evaluation

Give a short quiz about the lesson discussed.

V. Assignment
Research in advance about the different fallacies or beliefs about the non-communicable
diseases.
