Belmonte
named
special
envoy
PRESIDENI Roddgo Duterte has
appointed former House speaker
Feliciano "Sonny" Belmonte Jr as
his special envoy to lapan.
Belmonte, a former stalwart
of the opposition Liberal Party,
will sewe as the Presidtnt'stpe-
cial envoy for trade and market
access, according to the new list
of presidential appointees from
Malacaiang.
Belmonte's appointmeDt paper
was signedby Duterte on October
15.
A former representative of Qu-
ezon City, Belmonte served as a
lawmaker at the House of Rep-
resentatives from 1992 to 2001.
He also served as mayor of
Quezon City.
Belmonte served as House
speaker during the presidency of
Benigno Aquino 3rd.
