our society known as the teenage pregnancy.

CHRISTINE: As we all know, teenage pregnancy is one of the major factors that affect population growth
in the Philippines.

ZESSA: And to better understand this issue, we have invited two famous beauty queens. Let’s give a big
round of applause for our guest Miss Universe Pia Wurchback and Miss Hispano Americana Winwin
Marquez.

SCENE 1

CHRISTINE: WELCOME TO THE “TEEN – DAILY TALK SHOW” , Miss Universe Pia Wurchback and Miss
Hispano Americana Winwin Marquez.

RANDI: Thank you for being with us today.

ZESSA : It is our greatest pleasure to meet both of you.

STELLE AKA MISS PIA: The pleasure is ours.

RIZA AKA MISS WINWIN: Thank you for having us here.

Zessa: Your welcome, Please have a seat.. well, how’s your day, guys?

STELLE: I’m very well, still confidently beautiful with a heart, thanks

RIZA: I’m fine, thanks

CHRISTINE: As we all know, with today’s alarming sudden growth of population, our economy is getting
affected and according to our research approximately 750,000 of 15-19 years old become pregnant each
year. First, I would like to ask Miss Pia, her opinion about teenage pregnancy?

STELLE: Well, teenage pregnancy is an unintended pregnancy and the fact that teenagers become
pregnant is likely related to many factors such as poverty and lack of information.

ZESSA: Thanks Miss Pia now, Miss Winwin, what do you think are the other causes of teenage
pregnancy?

RIZA: Actually, I think it is sometimes related to the situation of the teenager and the friends she
interacts with. You know, teenagers often feel pressure to make friends and fit into their peers. So
sometimes they do something recklessly.

RANDI: You’re both right, sometimes the absence of the parents is also one of the main cause. So do
you both think that being uneducated likely cause teenage pregnancy?
STELLE: Well. It depends on the situation, MAYBE, because they may get incorrect information from
friends or movies.

RIZA: and they may also be influence by drugs and smoking .Teens may also get pregnant as a result of
sexual abuse and rape.

CHRISTINE: Thank you Miss Pia and Miss Winwin, we learned a lot from you today.

STELLE AND RIZA: YOUR WELCOME ( EXIT)

SCENE 2

RANDI: Now Let us move on to our next guest, a famous business woman who had gone through
PREGNANCY at the age of 16. Alright everyone let us give a warm welcome to our third guest. MRS.
CHAVEZ…

MARY ANN: HEY GUYS

ZESSA: Thanks for coming to our show, Mrs Chavez. Please have a seat. By the way how are you today?

MARY ANN: I’m fine, still stunning as usual. With such a handsome husband, I’m living happily.

CHRISTINE: Good for You, MRS. CHAVEZ. By the way Mrs Chavez, Teenage pregnancy is a very serious
issue that may seriously impact the future of a young woman. So, when you knew that you were
pregnant, what did you feel?

MARY ANN: Well, back then I was still an inexperience young woman. So I immediately got depressed
and I had suffered an emotional crisis. I almost did something stupid such as suicide and abortion

RANDI: But, what lead you to almost commit such an unforgivable act, Mrs. Chavez. Don’t you want the
baby?

MARY ANN: Truthfully, at first, I don’t want the baby because I was worried about our future. I feared
that my own life and dreams will be impacted.

CHRISTINE: Is that really the only reason?

MARY ANN: Of course not, I was afraid that I will not finish my studies and my parents will shun me. I
also feared that my boyfriend will just break up with me.

ZESSA: I understand you’re feeling Mrs Chavez. Financial difficulty may also arise during teen pregnancy
and you will struggle to cover the expenses of the baby.

RANDI: Luckily you didn’t try to use drugs because your body may not be able to stop the substances
from harming the baby.

MARY ANN: You’re right, if I did aborted the baby. Maybe I would not become a famous business
woman today and I would not have such a loving family.

CHRISTINE: So now, Mrs Chavez what advice can you share to our teenage mothers, nowadays..

MARY ANN: All that I can say is, do not try to abort the baby. After all, the baby is innocent. So just love
her/him because someday like me you may have such a loving family.

ZESSA: THANK YOU, for being with us today MRS. CHAVEZ. AND now TO FURTHER UNDERSTAND OUR
TOPIC, LET’S HEAR FROM OUR PARTNER. MR. CARL…

CARL: Thank you, Ms Zessa, Randi and Christine. Hello World and Hello Philippines. My name is Carl, and
I am here at Northern Mindanao Provincial Hospital, with Dr Josh Villallon, one of the doctor in this
institution. Good Afternoon, Mr Josh

JOSH: GOOD AFTERNOON, to you too. By the way this is my secretary, SOPHIA
CARL: Hi Sophia BTW DOCTOR. What are the risk of teenage pregnancy? And how does teenage
pregnancy affect the baby?

JOSH: Well, Teenage mothers are likely to gain adequate weight during pregnancy, leading to low birth
rate and babies born prematurely while pregnant teens may experience anaemia, high blood pressure
and preterm labour

CARL: Thank you doctor, Sophia, in your own opinion, what do you think can we do in order to prevent
teenage pregnancy?

SOPHIA: Well, the solution are not drastic, firstly we should teach each teenagers to respect herself, lay
out the consequences, discourage early dating, improve their knowledge (use condoms, birth control,
abstinence) and each parent should guide their children.

CARL: Thank you Ms Secretary, do you agree to her, doctor?

JOSH: Yes, but before the end of this show. I would like to remind all teenagers, to study first before
entering the kingdom of love because you may do something that you will regret.

CARL: Thank you for your time, doctor and Ms secretary. I hope you enjoyed our talk. Back to you Ms.
Randi
