The number of laboratory tests and their demands has risen nowadays.

The reasons for this are the


development of modern laboratory equipment and the potential to make it suitable for physicians
(Amiresmaili, M., Barouni, M., Mouseli, A., Samiee, S.M., Vali, L., 2017). These variables resulted in
laboratory expenses being increased (Dabrowska, M., Solnica, B., Sypniewska, G., 2010).

One of the main components of efficient health care facilities is measuring patient satisfaction.
Patient satisfaction adds from the patient's point of perspective to the evaluation of health care
facilities. Monitoring patient satisfaction is a significant and effective quality improvement method
especially for clinical laboratories and health care organizations in general.

The study will aim to determine the relationship between the satisfaction rate of the respondents
and the laboratory fee offered by laboratories in Davao, and to determine the corresponding factors
that would possibly affect the respondent’s decision-making in choosing the type of laboratory.

Statement of the Problem

This paper intends to determine the relationship between the satisfaction rate and
laboratory fee offered by laboratories to the respondents in Davao City..
Specifically, the researchers aim to answer the following:
1. Type of laboratory preferred by the respondents in Davao City.
a. Primary Laboratory
b. Secondary Laboratory
c. Tertiary Laboratory
2. What are the factors affecting their decisions in choosing the type of laboratory?
3. Is there a significant relationship between the quality of service offered by thee preferred
laboratory and the financial aspect of the respondents?

Significance of the Study

This paper undertaking would serve as an instrument to the following people who will be recipients
and beneficiaries of this term paper outcome.

The result of this study would benefit the laboratory management and owners to improve the things
that needs to ameliorate. Moreover, there results would gain awareness and give information that
would give improvements not just towards the infrastructure but also towards the customer service
that they could offer. Thus, the laboratories would amend their quality management which includes
the quality assurance and quality control of the organization as a whole. This paper would give a
benefit towards the people regardless of socioeconomic status and a better changes of the health
care system within Davao City and even to the whole country of the Philippines.
