IMPLEMENTATION OF X-RAY INSPECTION MACHINE IN

FAR EASTERN UNIVERSITY

School safety is where students are safe from violence, bullying, harassment, and
substance. Safety in a university is essential for students and the people inside the campus to
prevent any malicious act that can happen. Also to allows students to look forward to being in an
encouraging environment that promotes social and creative learning. When violence is part of the
educational setting, all students are affected in some way. According to Charlton D. (2018) rumors
and incidents of drugs, knives and guns that are stored inside their bags having security issues
that raised alarm about backpacks also being used to hide contraband and weapons.
Phil Star also tackled about this kind of issue as part of the government’s anti-illegal drug campaign
in universities. As stated by Malaluna-- the Education undersecretary, Department of Education
have considerations such as child protection policy and schools as zones of peace.

The issue of school safety is a major concern at all levels of government. This is one
example of an issue faced by the Far Eastern University in a way that the security guards only
implement manual checking of bags but the reality is they are not strictly checking and the safety
is unsure.

College campuses are growing increasingly diverse throughout the country, and it’s
important that any tension or conflicts that may exist among the student body does not escalate
into violence. It’s better to be safe than sorry when it comes to providing security. As technology
innovates today’s world it become necessary in making our life easier and be secure.
Implementing x-ray inspection machine is one of the best example to improve the security in the
entrance and exit in the campus. X-ray inspection machine is a technology used to inspect the
hidden features of target objects that detect and reject the hazardous items. Compare to manual
checking, it causes delay for the students who are entering and exiting the school. Also the safety
is uncertain because they don’t check it properly unlike the machine it shows the things inside the
bag and can identify the things that are prohibited like cigarettes, e-cigarettes, drugs and harmful
objects to be bought inside the university. This benefits the security, students, and faculty members
and be free from danger. It is suitable for all the universities because it is inevitable to bring such
things. It also helps students to be discipline in improving oneself and be responsible in their
actions. Discipline is very much important for a student's life as it is the learning stage so as to live
a better & dignity in the rest of their life.

School is an educational institution designed to provide learning not a place for doing bad
habits. We want to make a peaceful environment and to promote protection of students from
violence, exposure to weapons and threats, theft, and the sale or use of illegal substances on school
grounds.
