ABSTRACT

This descriptive study focuses on the impacts of online gaming to the study habits of
selected Grade 11 IT 113 students conducted at the STI Academic Center Las Piñas.
Purposive sampling technique was used to select the respondent of the study since it only
focuses to the students who are inclined in online gaming, a total of ten (10) IT 113 students
are the respondent of the said study. A structured interview was used as an instrument to
gather the necessary data for this study. Result show that there is both a positive and negative
impacts of playing online games towards the study habits of the IT 113 students. The
researchers found out that most of respondents prioritize playing online games than doing
their school works/activities while on the other hand the researchers also found out that
playing online games lead the students to developed mental skills, as a student apply different
strategy and critical thinking while playing.
