Emergency Preparedness Plan

Description of the Main Task:

Your group is tasked to produce an emergency preparedness plan (EMP) for your
school/class. In addition to the EMP, you are required to prepare survival kits to be used by
your class (separate from your Go-Bags). The things you have to consider in making your
EMP’s are as follows:

 school profile (you may add a class profile to make it more interesting);
 identifying roles and responsibilities;
 a short hazard identification and safety assessment;
 identifying common responses to certain emergencies,
 identifying and distributing responsibilities within the household or community,
 evacuation sites,
 inclusion of common emergency scenarios (i.e. what to do in case of separation, what
to do if you have to evacuate, what to do to if there are injured people within your
care etc)
 things you have to place in the survival kits

Details of the Task

1. Your group has to make an emergency plan. See attach file for the format.
2. Your group will have to prepare survival kits for the community assigned to you.
3. The attached rubric will be used for the assessment of the final outputs.
