1.

PURPOSE:
The purpose of this standard operating procedure is to establish a dress code for staff working
in paracetamol plant of Citi pharma as employees are expected to represent the organization in
an exemplary manner both in conduct and appearance during business hours or when
representing the organization. This SOP emphasis that employees dress and grooming shall be
appropriate to the nature of each individual’s work, while emphasizing safety, comfort,
productivity, conservative uniform style and professionalism.
2. SCOPE:
The scope of this standard operating procedure covers to paracetamol plant of Citi pharma.
3. RESPONSIBILITY:
3.1 Production manager, QC, QA personnel, visitors, shift in-charges, supervisor,
operators, assistant operator, helpers and any personnel entering to plant is
responsible to follow this SOP.
3.2 Production Manager of paracetamol plant or his/her designee is responsible for
implementation of this SOP.
3.3 Quality Assurance department is responsible for compliance and audit of this
SOP.
4. PROCEDURE:
4.1 Material and equipment:
4.1.1 Uniforms.
4.1.2 Shoes
4.1.3 Safety helmets
4.1.4 Caps
4.1.5 Mask
4.1.6 PPEs
4.2 General Instructions:
4.2.1 Employees who are required to wear a uniform must be in complete uniform
while on duty and uniforms should always be fresh, clean and neat.
4.2.2 Employees shall maintain their personal appearance in a clean and neat manner.
4.2.3 Hair should be clean, combed and neatly trimmed or arranged.
4.2.4 Personal hygiene habits must be maintained to minimize body odor unless
prohibited by sincerely held religious beliefs. In addition, strong-smelling
perfumes, cologne and body lotions are discouraged.
4.2.5 Slippers, (except if medically required with a doctor note), shower shoes; beach
shoes; athletic/tennis shoes; flip-flops (Y-shaped strap) shoes are prohibited.
4.2.6 Shorts, skirts, dresses shorter than 3 inches above the knee are not allowed.
4.2.7 Any unsafe attire is not allowed in plant areas.
4.2.8 Nail and beard should be properly trimmed and combed.
4.2.9 Clothing that exposes undergarments, the stomach, midriff or waistline area are
strictly prohibited in plant.
4.3 Dress color codes for paracetamol plant:
4.3.1 Dress should be worn as per gowning SOP and instruction in place in change
dedicated change rooms of plants.
4.3.2 Manufacturing area staff should wear grey trouser, shirt and yellow safety helmet
while working in plant areas.
4.3.3 Packing area staff should wear White trouser, white shirts, white caps and white
cotton mask.
4.3.4 Shift in-charges (chemical engineers) should wear gray pants and light blue shirt
and yellow safety helmet while operation.
4.3.5 QC/QA personnel and visitors should wear white coats and white safety helmets
in manufacturing area and white coat and white cap in packaging areas.
4.3.6 Appropriate PPEs to be used as per process requirement.
