NOTED IN FORBES MAGAZINE’S 200 LARGEST CHARTIES LIST TIED
FOR NUMBER ONE

Forbes Magazine, in its online ranking of the 200 largest U.S. charities, BBF was listed as having a
100% rating in fundraising efficiency, charitable commitment and donor dependency. BBF was
noted in the article as tied for the number one position of the most efficient charity reviewed by
Forbes. BBF President Luke Hingson was highlighted for his commitment to charitable work. Please

brought to the top of this list by clicking on Fundraising Efficiency or Charitable Commitment,
which will rank the charities accordingly. Also, The Better Business Bureau awarded BBF with its
“Wise Giving Alliance Standards” seal of approval for another year.
BBF has made four air shipments and 37 tractor trailer (ocean-going container) shipments of relief
supplies to Haiti with a value exceeding $36,000,000. These shipments included pharmaceuticals
(antibiotics, pain relievers and other medicine), locally collected hygiene items, medical supplies and
equipment. BBF has also provided pharmaceuticals and medical supplies for 40 hand-carry mission
trips to Haiti. BBF is also supporting feeding programs and rebuilding three schools in Haiti. BBF
also provided 200 containers of requested humanitarian supplies to people in over 50 countries in
2010.
BBF, a 52-year old Pittsburgh-based international charity, has provided over $3.4 billion of medical
supplies, textbooks, food, seeds, and other humanitarian supplies to people around the world in over
140 countries. With the help of gifts from the general public, corporations and the US government,
in 2009 BBF sent product contributions to those in need in 70 countries including Argentina,
Dominican Republic, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, India, Jamaica, Malawi,
Nicaragua, Peru, Philippines, Rwanda and Vietnam. These shipments were the equivalent of 319
tractor trailer loads. Also in 2009 BBF furnished supplies for 265 medical and humanitarian hand-
carry mission trips.
