Accessibility

Cisco Networking Academy is committed to making our curricula, documentation, and websites
accessible and usable by all students. We are pleased to announce recent accessibility enhancements to
both Networking Academy courses and to the NetAcad.com platform – enabling students with
disabilities, including visual, hearing, and dexterity for easier access to our courses. The enhancements
include both design and assistive technology aligning more closely to the World Wide Web WCAG 2.0 (Web
Content Accessibility Guidelines) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Course Enhancement Features

Accessibility enhancements include:

• Screen Reader, Magnifier - Course is accessed with screen magnifier and screen reading software as well
as keyboard navigation tools for students with special visual needs.

Testing was performed with Freedom Scientific’s JAWs screen reader v17, Microsoft Screen Magnifier,
Microsoft Accessibility Options (Filter keys and Display/Contrast settings), and standard keyboard. Other
screen readers may be compatible but have not yet been tested. To ensure full accessibility functionality,
use Firefox version 56 or Firefox ESR (Extended Support Release). Firefox version 57 (Quantum) is not
compatible with the JAWS screen reader.

• Transcripts and Close Captioning – The majority of course videos include transcripts or closed captioning
helpful for students with hearing impairment.
