Streetsville Village Times Article- November 2018

I would like to sincerely thank you for the opportunity to represent you and your family on City Council
for the 2018-2022 term. It has truly been an honour to serve you for the past 18 years, and I look
forward to continuing to serve you this term. Christmas is just around the corner, and I am very
pleased to report that the Streetsville Santa Claus Parade will be returning to the heart of downtown
Streetsville this year! The details of the 2018 Streetsville Santa Claus Parade are as follows:

2018 Streetsville Santa Claus Parade


Sunday, November 25, 2018
at 1pm
Queen St. S. & Ontario St.

The 2018 parade will begin at Queen St. S. and Ontario St., at 1pm and proceed south on Queen St.
S., ending at Church St.

This year’s parade will feature many wonderful bands and groups, such as the Streetsville Pipes &
Drums, Top Hat Marching Orchestra, Rameses Shrine Drum Corps, Tian Guo Marching Band, 800
Black Forest Squadron band, ICON Percussion, 105 Streetsville Army Cadets band, and the 820
Chris Hadfield Squadron band. The parade will also feature the Raptors 905 mascot and dancers,
Mr. Peanut, Silver Elvis, the Bread & Honey mascot and float, Niagara Shrine Club’s Maid of the Mist
float and Misty tugboat float, Peel Shrine Club go karts, fabulous local school / community group
entries and floats, Frosty the Snowman, and Mrs. Claus in her own float, all leading up to the Grand
Finale – Santa Claus himself!

If you feel like celebrating and getting into the Christmas spirit before the Parade begins, bring your
friends and family over to Streetsville Village Square, at Queen Street South and Main Street, and
listen to some great Christmas tunes, spun by Stoo-ie from 11am until 1pm. If you want to enjoy a
snack before the Parade begins, the Beaver Tails and Prince Edwards Fries food trucks will be
serving up delicious food at the Streetsville Village Square until 1pm. Also, don’t miss the Streetsville
Lions Club serving up delicious BBQ on Pearl St.

Please note, as part of the Parade, the following road closures will be in effect on Sunday,
November, 25th as follows:

• Queen St S, from Britannia Rd W to Erin Centre Blvd, closed 12pm-3pm


• Church St, from Ontario St to Main St, closed 10:30am-3pm
• Ontario St, east of Queen St S, closed 10:30am-3pm
• Kerr St, from Queen St S to Church St, closed 10:30am-3pm
• Water St, from Queen St S to Church St, closed 10:30am-3pm
• Main St, from Queen St S to Church St, closed until 3pm
• Bristol Rd W at Durie Rd, closed 12pm-3pm
• All parking lots and parking spots along Church St, between Ontario St to Maiden Lane

Public parking for the Streetsville Santa Claus Parade will be available at:

• Centre Plaza parking lot 128 Queen St S


• Streetsville GO Station parking lot 45 Thomas St

Accessible parking for the Streetsville Santa Claus Parade will be available at:

• Centre Plaza parking lot 128 Queen St S


As in years past, the Streetsville Santa Claus Parade will be held during the same weekend as the
Streetsville BIA’s fabulous Christmas in the Village Weekend, which will take place on Friday,
November 23rd and Saturday, November 24th. Be sure to mark your calendars and stop by this
spectacular celebration, which has a wonderful Christmas Market and fun activities for the whole
