1. Opening of sitting

The sitting opened at 09.00.

2. Approval of Minutes of previous sitting

Mrs Cerdeira Morterero had informed the Chair that she had been present but that she had forgotten to
sign the attendance register.

The following spoke:


- Rübig, who made a correction to the remarks he had made in the debate on the EC-Switzerland
agreements (Item 20);
- Goepel, who drew attention to an error in the German version of amendment 12/rev. to the proposal
for a regulation on the COM in milk (Maat report - A5-0074/2000) (Texts Adopted, Item 2)
(the President assured him the mistake would be corrected).

The Minutes of the previous sitting were approved.

Follow-up reports:

Pursuant to Article 7 of the Conference of Presidents decision of 9 December 1999 on the procedure for
authorising own-initiative reports, the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Consumer Policy
was authorisaed to draw up follow-up reports on:
- implementation of Directive 91/676/CEE on nitrates (INI 002110)
- implementation of Directive 92/43/CEE on habitats (INI 002111)
- implementation of Directive 96/59/CE on PCB/PCT (INI 002112)

4. Counterfeiting and piracy (debate)


Mrs Fourtou introduced her report, drawn up on behalf of the Committee on Legal Affairs and the Internal
Market, on the Commission Green Paper - Combating counterfeiting and piracy in the single market
(COM(1998) 569 - C5-0245/1999 - 1999/2179(COS)) (A5-0096/2000).

5. Bodies responsible for interim civilian administration/peace agreements *

Mr Laschet introduced his report, drawn up on behalf of the Committee on Budgets, on the proposal for a
Council regulation on support to bodies set up by the international community after conflicts either to
take charge of the interim civilian administration of certain regions or to implement peace agreements
(COM(2000) 95 - C5-0118/2000 - 2000/0042(CNS)) (A5-0111/2000).

6. New delegation names


The President announced that the Conference of Presidents, at its meeting of 16 March 2000, had taken
note of the request from the Chairman of the Delegations to the parliamentary cooperation committees
and the delegations for relations with the Transcaucasian republics: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia to
change their name to take account of developments in international relations in general and relations
between the European Union and Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia in particular.
