Hello good morning everybody, welcome to my presentation, let me start

introduce myself. My name is Mustika Putri Nabila. I am Student College in State of
Polytechnic of Jakarta. Today I would to talk about air pollution. I have divided my
presentation into three parts. Firstly, what was meant by air pollution. Air is the
preparation of air quality up to advising life because of the entry pollution into the air. the
presence of one or more physical substance, chemical, or biological in the atmosphere
in the amount that could endanger the health of living things, disrupt the aesthetics and
comfort, or damage property. Air pollution is the entry, or a mixture of dangerous
elements into the atmosphere which could cause environmental damage, disruption to
human health in general as well as reduced environmental quality.
Secondly, what a process and factor air pollution. Factor air pollution in outdoor
air pollution increases due to the consequences if increased burning of fossil fuels for
transportation, power generation, and the human activities. Indoor our pollution like
cooking and heating as solid fuels on opening fire place without chimney or lead our
pollution indoor. Smoke is formed to contain pollution that can damage health such as
soot or dust that can reach lungs. Impact consequences of pollution continue to grow in
human activity, people always meet their needs in ways that can alter environmental
balance, living beings require biotic and abiotic environment. Specific if contamined the
surrounding environment will cause interference.

And finally, what health effect from air pollution.

a. Big killer

WHO said the contribution of indoor air pollution as the most important risk factor
number eight and is responsible for 2.7% of the disease. Globally, indoor air pollution in
the fuel use is responsible for 1.6 million deaths from pneumonia, chronic lung disease
and lung cancer, and 5 times greater threat than outdoor air pollution. In developing
countries a high mortality rate, indoor air pollution is estimated to be responsible for
3.7% of the total disease burden, making it the leading cause of death after malnutrition,
unsafe sex and lack of water and sanitation. Indoor air pollution has been shown to
strongly increase the risk of pneumonia in children under 5 years and chronic
pulmonary disease and lung cancer (in relation to the use of coal) in adults aged> 30
years.
.

b. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)

Women who are exposed to smoke in indoor air pollution 3x more risk for COPD,
such as chronic bronchitis than women who cook and heat with electricity, gas and
other fuels. In men who are exposed to indoor pollution increases the risk as much as
2x to get COPD. Indoor air pollution is responsible for 700,000 of the 2.7 million deaths
from COPD.

c. Lung Cancer

Coal is widely used in China and use for cooking in an open or use a small fire
can cause lung cancer in women. Exposure to smoke from coal burning increases
the risk of lung cancer as much as 2X in women who inhale smoke less than men in
developing countries. Every year more than one million people died of lung cancer
and indoor air pollution is responsible for about 1.5% of these die.
d. Discrepancy in Children and Woman

The practice of energy use in households is happening around the world as well as
deaths due to indoor air pollution. More than two thirds of death from acute lower
respiratory infections in children occur in Africa and Southeast Asian region, more than
50% of deaths from COPD due to exposure to indoor air pollution occur in the western
pacific region. In most societies, women are responsible for cooking and preparing
food, they can spend 3-7 hours per day on the fire to prepare food. Fifty-nine percent of
air pollution on mortality associated with all indoor air pollution occur in women. Small
children are often worn or carried by the mother to get a sense of warmth. This resulted
in many babies spend time exposed to smoke during the first year of life while
developing its respiratory organs, causing them vulnerable to the dangers of
pollutants. Some 56% of deaths related indoor air pollution occur in children under 5
years of age.

Because air pollution the environmental health threats to children and is a risk factor
for respiratory illness either acute or chronic environmental tobacco smoke and certain
outdoor pollutants are known as risk factor for respiratory infections, indoor air pollution
from organic fuels is a major contributor to disease.
Let me just say that air pollution is very dangerous. I will briefly summarize the man
issues. In conclusion you can help to reduce global air pollution. It is strongly
recommended by walking for reduce air pollution from smoke a transportation. It is
better than motorbike. That should on be fresh air. I recommended using mass transit
when possible. If you have any question I will give you time the answer. Thank you for
your listening my presentation.
