26. European research area (Commission statement)

Mr Busquin, Member of the Commission, made a statement on the European research area.

29. Separating internal audit and ex-ante financial control functions * (debate)

Mr Van Hulten introduced his report, drawn up on behalf of the Committee on Budgetary Control, on the
proposal for a Council Regulation amending the Financial Regulation of 21 December 1977 and separat-
ing the internal audit function from the ex ante financial control function (Article 24, paragraph 5, of the
Financial Regulation) (COM(2000) 341 H C5-0293/2000 H 2000/0135(CNS)) (A5-0260/2000).
