31. EEC-Denmark/Greenland Fisheries Agreement * (debate)

Mrs Langenhagen introduced her report, drawn up on behalf of the Committee on Fisheries, on the pro-
posal for a Council regulation on the conclusion of the Fourth Protocol laying down the conditions relat-
ing to fishing provided for in the Agreement on fisheries between the European Economic Community, on
the one hand, and the Government of Denmark and the local Government of Greenland, on the other
(COM(2000) 865  C5-0028/2001  2000/0348(CNS)) (A5-0129/2001).

32. Extension of duty-free access to least-developed country products (debate)

Mr Miranda introduced his report, drawn up on behalf of the Committee on Development and Coop-
eration on the report on the proposal for a Council regulation amending Council Regulation (EC)
No 2820/98 applying a multiannual scheme of generalised tariff preferences for the period 1 July 1999
to 31 December 2001 so as to extend duty-free access without any quantitative restrictions to products
originating in the least developed countries (COM(2000) 561  C5-0136/01  2000/0239(COS))
(A5-0128/2001).

33. International standards for ship safety ***II  Common rules for ship inspec-
tion and survey organisations ***II (debate)

The next item was the joint debate on two recommendations for second reading drawn up on behalf of
the Committee on Regional Policy, Transport and Tourism.

Mr Watts introduced his recommendation for second reading on the common position adopted by the
Council with a view to the adoption of a European Parliament and Council directive amending Council
Directive 95/21/EC concerning the enforcement, in respect of shipping using Community ports and sailing
in the waters under the jurisdiction of the Member States, of international standards for ship safety, pollu-
tion prevention and shipboard living and working conditions (port State control) (5179/1/2001 
C5-0074/2001  2000/0065(COD)) (A5-0140/2001).

Mr Ortuondo Larrea introduced his recommendation for second reading on the common position adopted
by the Council with a view to the adoption of a European Parliament and Council directive amending
Council Directive 94/57/EC on common rules and standards for ship inspection and survey organisations
and for the relevant activities of maritime administrations (C5-0075/2001  2000/0066(COD)) (A5-0144/
2001).
