Episode 1- PLANNING FOR ASSESSMENT

Observation guide:

How did the teacher plan for:

1. Structuring instruction in order to reinforce productive learning?

(Write the Observation Narrative)

Based on my observation the Ma’am Gumato creates well-established

routine to reinforce productive learning. She usually starts classes and
activities on time. She instructs her students clearly on what they are
going to do for today’s activity and make sure that they are focus on their
task. She also encourages collaboration among learners by conducting a
group activity where they feel safe and free to share their thoughts to
others.

2. Differentiating instruction in order to challenge beliefs or ideas that

create problems or inhibit the next stage of learning?

(Write the Observation Narrative)

As I observed, Ma’am Gumato discuss the topic to her students based on

the definition of the book but other students can’t easily understand the
concept of probability and statistics so she explain it using examples
based on real life situation like tossing the coin so that others can relate
to the topic and understand it in an easiest way. She also uses
different learning experiences in response to each student's needs like
board work, oral participation and group activity. In this way students
have the same opportunity to demonstrate their learning as other
students.

3. Obtaining rich and detailed information about how students are

progressing?

(Write the Observation Narrative)

Based on my observation Ma’am Gumato has her class record where she
records the performance of her students in a test. She also instructs her
students to make a portfolio where they keep their quizzes, assignments,
activity sheet, etc. She check the students portfolio every end of the
month and return it to students for further collection of their work until
the end of the school year. Her c
