The Agency is responsible for coordinating the evaluation and supervision of medicinal products for
human and veterinary use in the European Union (see Council Regulation (EEC) No 2309/93 of 22 July
1993, Official Journal of the European Communities L 214 of 24 August 1993). The EMEA was established
in January 1995. It has many close contacts with the European Commission, 15 EU Member States, EEA
countries and many other groups in government and the private sector.

The EMEA is organising selection procedures with a view to drawing up reserve lists for:

Selected candidates will be included on a reserve list and, depending on the budgetary situation, may be
offered a five-year renewable contract in accordance with the Conditions of employment of other servants
of the European Communities (Official Journal of the European Communities L 56 of 4 March 1968).

The place of employment shall be London.

Candidates must be nationals of a Member State of the European Union, of the accession countries
(Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia),
or of Iceland, Norway or Liechtenstein, on the condition they have full rights as a citizen.
