Parents, please read this syllabus with your child for understanding. Students,
you can receive 10 points if you return your syllabus with a parent(s) signature.
Lesson Description: Students will understand the manners of good writing. Conventions
are essential for reading, writing, and speaking. The lesson will help students identify the
four parts of speech and when to use and identify correct mechanics. There will be 1.5
point deducted for each day the assignment is late.

There are 20 questions (please read and follow directions). You will
have 30 minutes to complete the quiz. The quiz is a combination of
multiple choice, short answers, and a bonus.
The final project is a group project. Students will start on the project in
class. Groups will be assigned and given 3 days in class and online to work on the
project. Groups will work on a presentation of their choice (approved by instructor)
that will either emphasize the rules of conventions and mechanics or a sample of work
to that your group created using conventions.
