23. Parliamentary immunity of Mr Dell'Utri

Following the amendments to the Rules on parliamentary immunity which were adopted by Parliament on
11 June 2002 and which entered into force on 12 June 2002, the President announced that, on 11 March
2002, he had received a letter from Mr Dell'Utri calling for Parliament to appeal to the Italian authorities
in defence of his parliamentary immunity in legal proceedings in Caltanissetta.

Pursuant to Rule 6(3), this request was referred to the Committee on Legal Affairs and the Internal
Market.

24. Membership of political groups

The President announced that Mr Caudron, Mr Dary, Mr Naïr and Mr Scarbonchi had informed him that
they had joined the GUE/NGL Group with effect from 1 July 2002.
