Helping Children Survive Mongolia’s Winters
In February 2010, heavy snows and frigid –50° C temperatures hit Mongolia hard. The weather was so extreme that a state of disaster was declared in 15 of the country’s 21 provinces. UNICEF responded to the disaster by providing food, fuel, blankets, hygiene kits, medical supplies, and boots to more than 60,000 children.
