The System Administration Manager (SAM) is an HP-UX tool that provides an easy-t

o-use user interface for performing setup and other essential tasks.
SAM helps you with the administration of:

Application Description

Auditing and Security The Audit application enables the user to audit
events, system calls, and users.
Security Attributes
Configuration The HP-UX Security Attributes Configuration
application enables the user to configure
system-wide and per-user values of security
attributes of local and Network Information
Service (NIS) users.
Peripheral Devices The Peripheral Device application allows
system administrators to view all devices
on a host system and configure the slots and
cards for that system. Further, it helps
system administrators through the entire
process of card addition/replacement
without having to shut down the system.
Resource Manager The Resource Manager application enables
the user to manage (add/view/delete) requests
for resource monitoring.
Disks and File Systems The Disks and File Systems application provides
the user to perform HP-UX system
including management of logical groups and
volume groups, disk management tasks, and
file system tasks.
Display The Display application enables the user to
configure how the Xserver runs on the
displays. The user can setup SLS or
multi-screen, change display resolutions,
and other display and Xserver settings.
Kernel Configuration The Kernel Configuration application enables
the user to perform tuning operations on the
