SELECTION INFORMATION Divisional Classifications The CIF State Football Championship Bowl Games will be conducted in five (5) divisions. The section champion in each division will be placed for selection in that bowl game division regardless of enrollment (except for Div. The CBEDS enrollment figures to be used for both public and private schools are those certified by the school Principal in October of the prior school year. If less than three schools are available for selection in DIV. Note: 2009. The enrollment for single gender schools shall be doubled in grades 9 – 12 to gain a total figure for the single gender school. IV – see note below). Team Rosters It is important that coaches fill out the Team Player Roster. Game management. Only 65 slots will be provided for the player information that will be published in the program. Please fill out the form electronically and ensure that all of the information is as accurate as possible as the information will be used for the Official Championship Program for this event. Stadium Arrival/Entry A detailed information sheet will be provided at the Information Meeting/ Press Availability on Monday. the appropriate school personnel will have the opportunity to review specific game details to include: time schedule.com. A crew of five (5) officials along with an alternate will be assigned to each game. December 13. Assigned officials will be assigned to the positions they have worked throughout the regular season. A detailed outline of the 10-yard tie breaking procedure will be part of the team packet presented to school personnel on Monday. The north benches will be on the west side of the stadium (press box side). in case of overtime and TV commitments. Teams competing will be provided several Aero Nike Elite footballs at the information meeting to use for practice during the week. when necessary. Please note. Officials The State CIF Office will have the responsibility of assigning officials for the five championship contests. the State CIF can make arrangements to have phones available. Additionally. December 13. Halftime will be 15 minutes in length. provide a game ball of its choice (other than the Nike 3005) for use during its offensive possessions. Schools unable to furnish their own phones must notify the CIF at the meeting on Monday. 2010. If a school is unable to provide their own phones. The clock will start when both teams have left the playing area. December 13. if it prefers. Official Game Ball The official football for the CIF State Football Championship Bowl Games will be the Aero Nike Elite-FT0178-201. An exact time schedule will be available on Monday. Each team may. 10 . Each school (limit of four coaches) will be provided a booth located in the press box. Pre-game /Warm-up /Halftime /Time Schedule Teams from the north will warm up on the north half of the field (video board end) while teams from the south will be on the south end of the stadium. Field Phones It is strongly recommended that participating schools bring their own cordless field phones. and payment of game expenses. Teams representing the north shall wear light colored jerseys. (See field diagram located in the Appendices of this bulletin). Team Benches The south benches will be located on the east side of the field.Game Jersey Teams representing the south will wear dark jerseys. 2010. Tie Breaking Procedure The 10-yard tie breaking procedure as specified in the National Federation Football Rules Book will be utilized to determine a champion. field time may be limited. which is at the same end of the field as the entry tunnel. the Aero Nike Elite will be used on all kickoffs. including housing. The footballs shall include the NFHS authenticating mark.

A negative comment sets the tone for a reporter’s entire story that minimizes your school’s accomplishments. The Principals of the competing schools will be asked to take part in the awards ceremony. with one on stand-by to cover any emergency. Post-Game Interviews Following the on-field awards ceremony. Home Depot Center will have medical personnel on duty for any problem that might occur in the stands. 11 . One ambulance will be on duty in the facility. Arrangements will be made to escort Principals and Athletic Directors to the field prior to the end of the contest. both teams will remain on the field for the awards ceremony. Awards Ceremony Immediately following the conclusion of the game. Please encourage your student-athletes to be positive during the media interviews.

Suite assignments and policies will be reviewed with school personnel at the Monday. December 13. The CIF will provide. 2010. as part of the team information packet. The suite must be cleared after the completion of the awards ceremony. Photo Passes for School Newspaper. 2010. Principals will be provided with four (4) ALL ACCESS PASSES.

that band boosters accompanying the band must have an admission ticket. which will be played by the home school (south) from the stands. If neither school has a band in attendance the national anthem will be played over the stadium PA system. This will include the national anthem. School personnel will not be allowed on the sidelines. while the east side of the stadium will be for the Southern California teams. No tickets will be required. A school host will direct band directors/ supervisors to their respective seating areas upon arrival at the stadium. band and cheer leaders will be admitted with their coaches and supervisors upon departing their buses at the Southeast Vehicle Access gate that leads onto the Plaza Level of the stadium. Please note. cheerleaders (pep squads) must enter the facility with the band bus at the Southeast Access Gate. with each school band allotted 7 minutes (total time) for its performance. that will put holes in the turf. Because of field conditions. Please note. All school football team field passes are for the Team Box Only. the pep squads will be asked to form a tunnel from each goal post outward to the 50-yard line for the pre-game team introductions. Cheerleaders/Pep Squads Cheerleaders are to use good judgment in leading their respective rooting sections. or will have to produce an admission ticket. if coming on their own. Home Depot Center has requested that cheerleading stools/or stands. Halftime Schedule Halftime will be 15 minutes in length. Please note that the west side of the stadium will be for the Northern California schools. 13 . bands will not be allowed on the field prior to the contest. the visiting school (north) will be given the opportunity. If the home schools do not have a band. Additionally. (See field map in the Appendices section of this bulletin). There will be a microphone on the field for use by a school representative to describe the performance. however schools may provide battery-powered units. they will run through the tunnel and then proceed to their respective sideline team area. No microphones will be available. Steps leading from the field to the seating area will be provided. not be allowed on the grass field and must be on the warning track. Because of Home Depot Center’s concerns over the condition of the playing surface. Home Depot Center will provide artificial turf that will be placed on the field just in front of the warning track where cheerleaders must stay to lead their cheers. Band Information Each school will have a designated seating area for their band. As the players are introduced.INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS Team – Band – Cheerleaders Participant Entry The team.

Sportsmanship – Pursuing Victory with Honor The CIF is committed to the principles of Pursuing Victory With Honor. 3. must be flame proofed by a state licensed applicator. or decorative material. Principals are requested to review the expectations of good sportsmanship with members of the team. It is requested. 1. No banners are allowed to be hung with tape. the CIF has high behavioral expectations as part of the school participation in this event.Banners and Posters To comply with the requirements of the Uniform Fire Code. at the end of the game. Paper signs are permitted on stadium walls with the blue construction tape. Section 3. 2. athletes. which is approved by the Fire Marshall’s office. All banners. Faculty supervisors are to use good judgment to see that signs do not obstruct any views and are in good taste. It is important to remember that athletes and coaches are role models to the fans in attendance. These principles are about fair play and respect in all that takes place on the field of play by coaches. the following restrictions are placed on any banners displayed in the seating areas of the Home Depot Center.

Additionally there are many areas in the facility that provide for standing room only that provide excellent sight lines to the field of play. The Southern California schools will sit on the east side. Seating Areas Seating is available on both sides of the Home Depot Center. 15 .$8......00 HS Students (with ID) . They are authorized to collect and retain a convenience charge for the sale of each ticket sold. 2010. October 25........$8..00 Seniors (65+ with ID) ...) Each participating school will be supplied an allotment of tickets from the CIF State Office to sell during the week of the contest. Consult the telephone directory in your area for the nearest Ticketmaster number.00 Advance Ticket Sales (All tickets sold are good for all contests on the day indicated... PLEASE NOTE: All unsold tickets must be returned to CIF Associate Executive Director.. Schools representing Northern California will be assigned seating on the west side of the facility.. 2010...... The year 2010-11 is noted on the front of the card. Special Note: State CIF Passes are non-transferable and ID will be required. 16 . and is to be honored for admission. No other type of pass issued by schools. the back of the card is purple with white print. Section Gold Passes are not accepted at State CIF events. The State CIF Gold Life Pass is a bronze metal card. leagues or sections will be honored for this event! State CIF Courtesy Card State CIF Gold Pass (Purple Pass) SPECIAL MEDIA PASSES The news media will be issued event-specific credentials for the CIF State Football Championship Bowl Games held at the Home Depot Center. The CIF Courtesy Card has a white front with purple print.STATE CIF PASS: The State CIF issues two types of passes that are to be honored at this event.

It is not designed to totally reimburse all schools for all costs.
