Thankful for His Example
Jesus is our Lord. He is our Savior. He is our Master and our Teacher. One song sums it up in these words: “He is [our] everything.” Since He is our everything, we can also know that Christ is our example. Whenever we face a decision or temptation, we can always look not only to the teachings of Jesus, but also to how He handled those situations directly. Peter stated that Christ left “us an example, that we should follow in His footsteps” (1 Peter 2:21). That being true, we need to study His life more fully to see His example in each area of life. In the month of December, we are going to be thinking about Jesus, and about His example in our lives. Our goal is to look at three aspects of His life that are not only worthy of our praise and thanks, but that are also worthy of our emulation. I hope you will invite a friend (or several) to hear these lessons. Often, we think that Jesus does not know what we go through, but He is our example in all things. We’ll start this morning by noticing the compas-

sion of Jesus Christ. I hope to see you Sunday with a Bible in your hand and a friend at your side.

Last Sunday, our brother Don Morris responded to the Lord’s invitation. He was seeking prayers from his church family for strength and encouragement. We all know that brother Don has struggled since the death of his wife, Margie. He misses her tremendously, but his ultimate desire is to follow his Lord. Make sure you continue to encourage brother Morris. There will be many activities in the coming few weeks, with many parties, plays, meals, trips, and other outings filling our schedule. Some of those will happen right here at Lebanon Road. Make sure you keep a close watch on page 3 of the bulletin for events of interest, and put those on your calendar. You don’t want to miss a thing!

The reference is to the unbelieving Jews whom the Lord long and earnestly attempted to teach but whose perversity and hardness of heart had prompted them to close their minds and to exclude from their hearts any semblance of his teaching. If the Lord had not taught His opposers, they would not be guilty of sinning against the light they had never seen; but they had been privileged to walk in the light and this they deliberately refused to do and so their guilt consisted not only in not accepting the truth but also of repudiating it. Here is clear and unmistakable evidence of the fact that men are to be judged in proportion to the opportunities they enjoy. The greater the opportunity, the greater the guilt, and the greater the guilt the greater the punishment awaiting them (Matthew 11:21-28; Hebrews 10:25-28). Those who obey not the gospel are lost; lost for not obeying it; but, those who have heard it and deliberately rejected it have sinned not only against the truth but also against their own awareness of duty. From Guy N. Woods’ “Questions and Answers,” Vol. II, page 246-247.
Visitation team #1 will meet tonight.

JD’s Jargon
Hello everyone, We were very privileged to have a wonderful Lord's day last week. I appreciate so much the comments from our morning lesson. I am also thankful for the example of our Brother Don Morris. The young men did a fabulous job leading us in worship Sunday evening. We are truly blessed at Lebanon Road to work with such spectacular young people. Please continue to encourage our youth. Our son, Jude, continues to improve. I hope the doctors will tell us soon that his infection is gone. After that, I will be excited for Jude to get his PICC line removed and stop taking antibiotics every eight hours. Thank you so much for the prayers you have offered on Jude's behalf! To the youth, please remember the Winter Youth Series tonight at Mt. Juliet. We will leave the building at 5:30 PM. Thank you very much! --JD :)

Thank You
 Lebanon Road Church, It seems until we find ourselves in unexpected circumstances, do we realize how very much we need each other. Lebanon Road always comes through with concern, love, acts of kindness and most of all, going to God on behalf of the one in need. You have done it for me and for Wayne. We will forever be grateful. We continue to request your prayers as we go through these next few months. Love to All, Joyce Davidson  Dear Church Friends, Thanks so much for the prayers, calls, hospital visits, cards and offers to bring food for Ted and me during my 2 surgeries and Ted’s hospital stay.
