Room 5 Zoo Camp
We are trying our best to save the trees, the lawn and the tiniest semblance of an orderly
environment but it’s not proving to be the easiest of tasks. The next big disruption to school life is
Monday 29 November going to be the establishment of the pathways at the back of the school. Soon it will be necessary
Play and Learn 11am to enter the school either via the front or Library (for prams) only. Hopefully I will be given
some advanced notice and can let you know at least the day before this commences, but, history
tells me that I cannot guarantee prior knowledge. I apologise in advance for any disruption. If you
have any safety concerns please let me know.

Please clear your calendar for our end of year Concert and Art exhibition “Magpie Song”.

WEDNESDAY 15th DECEMBER

Tuesday 30th November Student art will be on display and available for sale from 5pm. The concert and presentation

engaging and empowers them to become life long learners.

MISSION
Through partnerships with parents and the local community, we will provide an inclusive environment
in which the students of North Fremantle Primary School can develop the knowledge, skills,
understandings, and confidence to reach their individual potential.
Confidence soars in parent survey results

Results of the recent parent survey have shown overwhelming support for the positive direction at North Fremantle
Primary School this year. 17 out of 63 families of families responded to the survey, held late in Term 3.

Respondents unanimously agreed that teachers are providing a stimulating learning environment for students, offering
school work that is interesting and enjoyable.

Parents are also satisfied with the balance between a wide range of learning areas.

There has been a large increase in the number of parents who feel included in school activities. All respondents
reported feeling well-informed and that the role of parents at school is valued.

More parents now feel that their children are being encouraged to do their best, to develop their interests and to take
pride in themselves (more than 90 per cent of respondents).

For more information, or a full copy of the survey results, please contact the School Office.

CLASS REPORTS
Kindy—Mrs Miller
We had a very exciting day yesterday. It was our assembly and we sang the song, ‘Happy as Larry’. We showed everyone
some work that we have been doing in our class. We felt very pleased and Mrs Miller and Mrs Preston were so proud of us.
Afterwards our mums and dads stayed behind to tell us what a fantastic job we did. When we came back to our classroom
our teachers gave us a surprise for doing a brilliant job. It was a lollipop! YUM!

Room Two—Mrs Jillian Pierce

We have been very busy taking part in activities associated with our theme “Robinson Crusoe.” We have been viewing,
writing and illustrating chapters for the book we are making. We have made a model island and are growing cress to use as
“trees” On Tuesday we will be camping as Robinson Crusoe was forced to do, but luckily for rooms 2 and 3 we do not have
to stay on an island for a number of years! We will also be making damper as Robinson did in this classic story.

Room Three - Ms Bev Lane

Last weekend several class members spent the weekend on camp together. They were
excited to share their experiences.

From Samuel: On Saturday I went to Nanga Bush Camp. It was fun. I liked the house
because it had two storeys and two firemen’s poles. I always slid down and when it was
late we had discos and I was the DJ and everyone else danced. I did a lot of cool moves
and then it was late. I LOVED NANGA BUSH CAMP!

From Lini: On the weekend I went to Nanga Wood shed. At first we were hyperactive, but
when we got into the creek we were a lot calmer. We got onto canoes, tyres, blow-up boats
and blow-up chairs. We went down the rapids; the first rapid was boring, but the second
one was awesome.

From James: On Friday we went to Nanga Bush Camp. It was fun. We roasted
marshmallows. The fire was cool. We went on the river. I liked swinging on the rope and there were marron in the water.

From Eli: Linc and I went to a place where we found clay and we made stuff with it.

Room Five – Rosie Russell

On the 16th November the children of North Fremantle Primary School had a cake stall. The room 5
students were selling cakes, cookies etc to raise money to go to their Zoo Camp in week 7. We
raised around $180! Thank You!

Art—Margie Campbell
Thank you to all the families who came down to view the display of artwork by North Fremantle PS
children at the North Fremantle Bowling Club. The children were thrilled to see their artwork up and I was told “I feel like a
famous artist having my work on display.” We are now moving onto some underwater diorama’s. Thanks to Francine for
tirelessly collecting the camembert boxes for this project.

Music—Lyn Cronin
We are happy to welcome Lyn back to North Fremantle PS and she is enjoying her time with us
busy preparing the students for the end of year concert. Lyn has discovered some
fantastic vocalists in the school and is enjoying working with some of the students who are
studying instruments. However, all will be revealed at the concert on 15th December!

It was great to see the children in Room 2 work cooperatively when playing a Maths game during the week. The game
required the students to throw a collection of two sided counters from a cup which were counted and added together.
The clever children recorded there counters with an addition number sentence. The year one students supported the Pre
primaries when recording and writing numbers

wear their boardies to school.
