Toyota Scion For Toyota I worked with a team to create a mixed reality branding experience. It was the launch of the first major auto dealership in second life. We did product giveaways as well as generate media for multiple touch points for Toyota's Scion XB. HP For HP I worked to build out a team and create an in-world product branding experience for B2B sales. Creating interactive product demonstrations as well media for a full business line of HP products and services.
Subway needed a rebranding of its rewards cards. I worked with the team performing those efforts shooting and editing the footage as well as creating the motion graphics to present to the franchisees at the Subways yearly conference. This internal marketing material was an effort to show the affinity the customer has with the rewards program.
Topia Technologies Topia Technologies asked for a refresh on a campaign reutilizing elements from a previously shot video for “troop skoot” as well as graphical elements from it’s web site. I crated screen-casts for marketing materials that showed how to engage with the brand. Cricket Wireless Who is green santa was a playful brand exercise with Cricket wireless where we went “viral.” A mix of event experiences with green santa as well a blog, facebook group and youtube video’s. We created the mystery of who is green santa to drive local portland consumers to the live events during the 12 days of cricket in 2007.
IOVATION Brought all the brands of the iovation product line to life through multiple video’s and animation’s. Word-smithed messaging and applied advanced animation techniques to give voice to the brand. Using style guides and vision statements from the client I produced the entire campaign From on location to post production.
Alpha Geek TV I am the Co-Creator and Producer for a Transmedia experiment we call Alpha Geek TV. I built this brand from scratch with my Co- creator and our aim is to build this show out over time. This project seeks to tell its story through nonlinear, multi-platform viewing and spread it’s brand across all Transmedia touch points. Experimenting early on with wireless live streaming and using social media as a distribution platform has given me a deeper insight into new media strategies. From Obama at Waterfront park to Inverge: the interactive convergence conference our camera’s have rolled during historic Alpha Geek moments.
Alpha Geek TV is news, technology and culture for people who lead the pack, bringing you the biggest and brightest brains from art, science and technology.
At Neutral Space I was brought in to be the catalyst for not only defining the technology platform but the direction of the product and services offered. One of the major efforts I was involved with was selling the brand to foundation round investors. With preliminary branding of the alpha release prototype developed I walked investors through the product experience resulting in investment that closed the founders round financing. Working with Sandstrom Partners, developing the comps and mock ups, we cleaned up and redeveloped our identity and brand for the company. I was responsible for defining product and technology roadmaps as well as performing market research. Writing up case studies and points of consumer brand interaction I lead all the marketing efforts for this extremely ambitious effort.

For the digital universe I help build out a massive internet portal that sought to become “the definitive repository of human knowledge online.” I worked with major scientific organizations like NASA, The Environment Literacy Council, Earth 911 as well as universities and research institutes to create next generation vetted internet content. We focused on technologies like RSS and other new media tools and platforms for our initial push into the public psyche. The main ethos of the brand was tied to our mission to provide accurate, unbiased information covering all aspects of human knowledge, and to inspire humans to learn, make use of, and expand this knowledge through creation of a network of portals that “mirror the world around us" and are stewarded by experts.

I said, well, I'd like to learn to podcast, and no sooner had I, than John Anthony Hartman tossed me his card. I can't even remember all the things he mentioned he's been part of in the evolution that is New Media, but suffice to say, this is like having Dr. J teach me how to play b-ball. John is a social media guru...simply the best. Source: Kent Lewis, President, Anvil Media, Inc.
“John is a brilliant and inspirational internet strategist and a true social networking guru. In addition to a strong background in IT and expert level multimedia skills, John truly "gets" social networking and is able to sift through the tremendous amount of noise in this space to find the specifics that are relevant to a company looking to join into the social networking groundswell. On top of being one of the most knowledgeable people in this space I have ever worked with, John is also an extremely nice man and rock solid colleague. His technical knowledge is both deep and wide - an unusual combination - and he is able to articulate complex concepts in a way that ordinary business people can actually digest. I wholeheartedly recommend him to any organization seeking to establish a concrete strategy for tapping into the rapidly evolving landscape of the internet.” Source Chip Lewis, VP Operations, neutrralspace
