Procedures
The class starts with:

 Prayer

 Attendance Check
Introductory Activity
 As discussed in the previous topic, the adolescent is still developing his cognitive skill that
5 minutes could be used to express his/ her feelings on the expectations of the significant people around
them.
 Give this motivation question for the students to express his/her initial feelings.

 What will you fight for or die for?


 Call 2 to 4 members of the class to give their responses.

Note: The teacher will process the responses of the identified student in the class leading to the
activity.

 Divide the class into 2 groups, the group should compose of a (leader, secretary, visual aid
maker, presenter, members/ contributors)
 Give the group question in a meta cards for them to discuss their viewpoints and elicit their
feelings on the expectations of the people around them.
 Each member of the group will share the answers of the given guide questions.
1. What will I fight against?

2. What can I not afford to lose?

3. What can I not live without?
Note: The note recorder/secretary of the group will take note of the responses of each member and
consolidate the responses/ feelings.
 Let them write the consolidated responses in a cartolina/ or manila paper and present it in
front of the class and let them explain their feelings/ responses.
 Class reaction/ discussion on the solicited feelings/ responses.

Analysis  After the 2 representatives from the 2 groups had presented, present these questions for
analysis and discussion.

1. As Filipino adolescents, what do you perceive as your responsibilities? Express your
feelings/ responses.
2. What do you think are the expectations of your parents, teachers, friends and the members
of the community?
3. As an adolescent, how can you balance the expectations of the significant people in your
life and your personal aspirations?
Note:
 Choose 2 reporters from your group to present the feelings/ responses in front.
 The teacher will process the responses of the identified student in the class
leading to the activity.

 The teacher will do the discussion based from responses of the feelings on the expectations of
the significant people around them on the following content: (The teacher prepares the
PowerPoint presentation/ visual aid of the content for discussion)
 The feelings/ responses of the challenges a middle and late adolescent may be
experiencing:
1. Attitudes and behavior toward sexuality and sexual relationships

 Instruct the class to go back to their respective groupings.

 Do the task, each members of the group:


 Share your feelings/ responses of the challenges a middle and late
adolescent may be experiencing on the expectations of the significant
people around them on the following content.
1. Group belongingness
2. Health and nutrition
3. Relationships
4. Material poverty
5. Career choices

10 mins  Let each member of the group defend their feelings /responses based from the above given
task.
 Critiquing/ discussion of the feelings and experiences based from expectations of the
significant people around them if it is acceptable of the set norms of the society based on the
above content.
 Consolidate feelings/ responses in a sheet of paper and present the output (graded group oral
presentation)
 Rubrics is provided for group oral presentation (Performance Tasks)
Criteria:
1. Introduction of the topic-40 points
2. Development of the topic-40 points
3. Ability to engage and involve audience-20 points

Essay writing (Written Works)

Assessment  Explain the given statement:


 Expectations are tried to one’s roles and responsibilities.

1. FOCUS/ MAIN POINT (The essay is focused, purposeful, and reflects
original insight and ideas)- 50%
2. SUPPORT (Persuasively supports main point with well-developed reasons
and / or examples)- 30%
3. ORGANIZATION & FORMAT (Effectively organizes ideas to build a
logical, coherent argument)- 20%

Assignment  Given the challenges of a middle and late adolescence.


 Come up with some affirmation statements to help you become a more lovable
1min and capable person.

Concluding Activity  Use the website http:// www.surveymonkey.com or( printed survey form by teacher) and
create a survey among your classmates on which challenges identified they have gone through
( 1 min ) or are currently experiencing.
