SPECIAL FEATURES
TOP LAYER
a) Specially woven Poly - cotton fabric rubberised with Polychloroprene rubber which imparts better
resistance to flex crack development.
CORD
a) Special adhesive treated - High Modulus - Low Stretch ( HMLS) polyester cable cord provides high
tensile strength with minimum stretch which in turn gives V-Belt good tension retention, superior
resistance to fatigue and shock loads.
COMPOUND
a) Polychloroprene used throughout the belt provides oil and heat resistance.
b) Fibre filled polychloroprene base compound gives increased power transmission capability, superior
transverse stiffness and high wear resistance.
PRECISION
The edges are precisely cut and ground to exact dimensions to ensure uniform fit along the sides of the
pulley grooves.
Nominal Length: Unless otherwise specified, nominal length considered is effective length (Le) in mm

Some Useful tips on
Belt Installation & Maintenance
Correct design of drives using V-Belts ensures longer belt life and a higher degree of operating safety. Premature failure can often be
traced back to faulty installation or maintenance. Some useful tips are given below:
Ø PULLEYS: The grooves should be in good condition, free from scores or sharp edges, all dimensions should conform to the
relevant ISO/RMA standards.
Ø ALIGNMENT: Shafts and pulleys should be correctly aligned prior to belt installation. A maximum tolerance of ½° in both planes
is recommended.
Ø MULTIPLE V-BELT DRIVES: Assemble belts in matched sets either by measurement or by manufacturer's code
numbers/markings. Re-measure belts if they have been stored for sometime.
Ø INSTALLATION OF V BELTS: The drive center distance should be reduced prior to installation of belts so that they may be fitted
without undue force. The severe stresses placed upon V Belts when they are forced over the pulley flanges can damage the cover fabric
and the high quality, low stretch tension members.
Ø BELT TENSIONING: The drive should be tensioned correctly and re-tensioned after 30 minutes and 4 hours at full load, to
compensate for the small initial belt stretch and “bedding” into the pulley grooves.
Ø IDLER PULLEYS
It is recommended that V Belt drives be regularly inspected for loss of belt tension, unusual heat build up or wear. Re-tension
or replace when necessary. Should an individual belt in a matched set require replacement for any reason, a complete new set
must be fitted. Belts from different manufacturers must not be mixed on the same drive. V belts need no special attention. Belt
dressings must not be used.

WARRANTY
Fenner (India) Limited warrants to the original purchaser that its products are free from defects in materials and workmanship for the one (1)
year period following date of manufacture of the product. Due to varied & wide application requirements, no definition of belt life can be
determined. Fenner (India) Limited will guarantee that their products will meet the established International standards and will last as long or
longer than any comparable product that is in the market. Liability under this warranty is limited to the purchase price of the product(s).
Fenner (India) Limited will replace or issue credit for any belt that contains a defect in workmanship, material, quality (based on application)
that does not meet an expected life. This warranty excludes incidental or consequential damages. Fenner India will not entertain the usage of
belts and failure in either wrong or unintended applications unless otherwise specified and discussed.
