Dear Campers, -
-
It is time to hear the old familiar refrain
about Almont Summer School being one
of the greatest opportunities for us to
come together to learn to live the golden
rule. -

I do not mean to preach to the choir, however, love, care, and re-
spect is a riff on that theme that has become instrumental for me as
director. It might be blowing our own trumpet, but almost every
year the camp is full of people who join together in harmony to grow
as people and as disciples. –

Our theme this year is Music in the Bible, which is not my forte. For
that reason, we are looking for people to come to camp eager to learn
and strike the right note! We will look into various scriptural passag-
es that involve music and also church teachings that reference instru-
ments and music as well. The lectures will bridge the gap between
the text and our lives that we might change our tunes and grow.
Camp would not be camp without our normal daily rhythm. From
waking up in the morning to our going to sleep in the evening,
campers will not want to miss a beat.
-
As always, the Summer School Committee is pulling out all the stops
to ensure that this session is as welcoming, transforming, and rejuve-
nating as it can be. If this strikes a chord with you, we welcome you
to reach out and volunteer to serve as staff.

It is music to my ears to hear of all the people looking to attend camp -

this year. I hope you will join our band of campers! — -

The Executive Board of Almont New

Church Assembly has made changes to the work Week
to meet state licensing requirements. Please read carefully and respect
these necessary changes
1. Camp will open at 2pm on Wednesday July 15th
2. Anyone under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by a parent,
grandparent, or legal guardian. Our dorms will not be open and we
must still follow state licensing rules.
3. We are planning some outings to enjoy in the area.
4. We will have sign up sheets of jobs that need doing so everyone can
be useful. If you have special skills or a job you want to do email
c.tishma@yahoo.com and let her know.
5. There is going to be time for us to gather together in fellowship as
well as a service project. No skills needed! It is really just a way for
us to hang out as a family.
6. There is no charge for these day however a love donation to offset
expenses would be appreciated.
