With regards, Yours Sincerely, Soyer Service activities Tirunevall district Through 75 Creches, 1825 rural Children were nurtured In all the Balwadis malt along with hygienically prepared, highly nutritive lunch with vegetables were served during the day and in the evening vitaminerich cereals were provided for the children, Eye camps were conducted at 3 places, in Kanyakumari,Nellai and Thoothukudi districts in which 495 were treated for their eye ailments and 70 underwent cataract operation. 11 persons were given eye medicines and 23 persons were given spectacles. In our Medicare Programme, 1890 patients were examined and treated for various common ailments through 14 Rural Medical Centers in Kanyakumari,Nellai and Thoothukudi districts. 4 tailoring units are functioning well in Nellai district with the total attendance of 75. Cultural activities Yoga Varga has been conducted at 2 places in Aruppukottai and Kovilpatti where 22 persons attended. Vivekavani Subscriptions collected include 112 annual, two years three and 47 Patrons. Shivalinga Pooja was conducted at 3 places in Kanyakumari District in which 234 devotees participated. Under ‘Adopt a Granny scheme’, 31 destitutes and old people were provided with monthly solatiums, in the form of rice, dhal.oil,etc., for their livelihood and 101 persons were provided with rice only in five Southern districts of Tamilnadu. Kendra Varga was conducted at Thoothukudi and Aruppukottai in 1 place each and 13 persons participated Rural District level competition Through various branch centers, including Thoothukudi A.O. : Vallioor - Tirunelveli district and book stalls, literature books were sold for Rs. 83,590/- Durga Pooja was conducted at 3 places, in Kanyakumari | District 261 devotees participated. i Under Amrita Surabhi Scheme, our Kendra workers collected 1019 Kgs of rice from Southern five districts. Total No.of. competitions -6, Schools -366, Students - 1752, Parents- 295, Teachers -319. Monthly Deepa poojas were organized in 196 village temples in five districts of Southern Tamilnadu, in which 8076 ladies participated and offered prayers for the welfare of the self, family and the society. In 159 Sanskara Vargas, 5064 students participated. The students were taught about the values of Indian Culture through games,lectures & lessons. The feelings of oneness were strengthened among the participants, through patriotic songs and games. Republic day function was celebrated in Southern five districts where 4826 people participated in 63 places. Geetha Jeyanthi function celebrated in Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Ramnad districts where 1529 people participated in 209 places. Parents meeting was conducted at 6 places in three districts and 186 parents participated S.Mariyur - a costal area village in Ramnad district. Very old lord Shiva temple identified in sea sha and local village people renovating the temple. In thisArulmigu Pavalaniravalli Sametha Pooventhiranathar temple mass deepa pooja conducted on 02.01.2020 and 700 women participated from 45 villages. 1008 Deepa Pooja - S.Mariyur - Ramnad district Anna Pooja was performed at Ramnad 120 Arulmigu ‘Thavala Vinayagar Temple. 120 devotees participated in the function and totally rice 9000 kgs of rice collected and prasatham was distributed to all devotees after the pooja. “Sri Rama Jeya Rama” Mantra was chanted during Deepa Pooja, Shivalinga Pooja and daily by our Balwadi school children, cultural class students and during monthly meetings with our Balwadi teachers and Social Workers. This month nearly 7,59,880 times mantras were chanted in 84 localities. College and School level Teachers’ essay competition conducted in topic of “ Global convection of the earth is threatening the whole world with so many changes in the nature. The changes in monsoon rain, Natural changing circumstances, Adequacy of the ground level water, Dravghtnes, Dryness in the riverbed areas, Pollution of the Air. All these are to be safeguarded through Individual} efforts,Duty of the society, and the duty and responsibility of the Government to take necessary steps” and 33 school teachers participated and some of them also attended the camp held at Kanyakumari and received the prizes for the same. Rural Inter District Level Childrens’ Carnival conducted at Kanyakumari from 30.01.2020 to 02.02.2020. 160 students from102 schools 221 parents & teachers 37 workers & volunteers participated in this camp. Rural Inter District Level Childrens Carnival - Kanyakumari district ee pees Cultural conference held at Kommadikottal Samayamanadu- S.V.Jeyanthi day and 201 students from 18 cultural classes. Kommadikottai Kovilpatti participated. In these conferences = Vivekanandar Kendra workers, well-wishe teachers and volunteers participated. was celebrated in Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi Ramnad & Virudhunagar districts where 5578 people participatedy in 75 places. 1. Indhu Middle School, A.Thirumalapuram - Kanyakumari district Inspiring Incidents Rajakumari— Peyankuzhi — Kanyakumari district Rural children’s Cultural camp was conducted at Kanyakumari. While Mathru Pooja was arranged I felt earnestly to participate in the pooja with my mother. I regretted for not able to participate thinking of my sick mother in bed. To my great surprise Balakrishnadevi akka sitting nearby asked me whether we could fill up the one vacant place. When we felt deeply for anything it is heard by the Almighty. I couldn’t ever forget that day in my life. Rajeswari— Mangavilai — Kanyakumari district On 17.10.2018 parents meeting was held in our Creche. J.Sahana, two years old child was crying non stopping in her mother’s lap. We went near her and fetched the child from her mother. She stopped her cry and looked around happily. All the parents were surprised and praised us for our deep affection towards the kids. This touched our heart, Vijayakumari— Mannarkoil — Tirunelveli district In our Creche a boy named Pachathu, 4 years old is studying. One day evening he didn’t leave even after all the kids had gone. When I asked him the reason, he replied that | would be alone if he also left. When I left for home he also went. His caring and dedication in that young age had touched my heart. Ramalakshmi — Chekkarakudi — II- Thoothukudi district Before lunch I used to put rice and water for crow. One day as I was busy with taking height and weight for the kids. Hence it was late and the crows shouted for food. Noted that a girl named Krishnaveni went to the Ayamma and informed her about the crows crying for rice. I went there at a that time knowing her interest I asked her to put rice and water herself. I also asked her to do the same at home before eating. She sincerely does that at home. Her mother felt much happy and informed me about the good change in her. She had expressed her gratitude also. This touched my heart. Renugabai - Kalingarajapuram — Kanyakumari district A family from Tirunelveli came with her son for the urban level cultural competition camp at Kanyakumari. They came with less interest as their son insisted. After seeing all the events they were much impressed. Mathru Pooja and Happy Assemby attracted them a lot. They expressed their happiness and praised us whole heartedly. They also told us that if their son would be selected they would come every yea J was proud of this incident. Ganeshwari — Sempatti— Virudhunagar district Ragul, a 2 years old kid is in our Creche. He was admitted one week back only. 9 — 9.30 is the prayer time| in our Creche. We sing pirarthanai songs. One day it was late. Ragul listened to our talk and came before thd children and started chanting om! Om!. All the others followed him and started the prayer. He couldn’t eves talk fluently. His keen listening skill had inspired me a lot. Janakipusbam — Vallioor — Tirunelveli district On 30.11.2018 the rural level cultural competitions were held in K.M.G.School, Thachanallur, Tirunelveli. Rotary club President Tmt. Swarnalatha was invited for the valedictory function. In her felicitation address she informed that she was our class student at Vilathikulam. Her teacher then was Mrs. Dhanalakshmi. Kendra training was the backbone of her present position and she proudly admitted that all the credit of my upliftment goes to Vivekananda Kendra only. She had induced the children to use those opportunities without fail. I had invited her for the 1008 Deepa Pooja to be held in Vallioor and she accepted. This incident inspired us a lot. Sundarraj — Kovilpatti - Thoothukudi Jam rendering my service to Vivekananda Kendra service activities for 5 years. Now I am a P.G. student in Sivagangai Mannar Duraisingam Govt. Arts College on 24th August I went to Lakshmi Srinivasa Vidyalaya, Kovilpatti to assist the service workers of Kendra in Books sales. There I saw the Tamil book named “Asiriyarkale Achanikal” and bought it and presented it to my Asst. Professor. She was much. impressed and asked me where I had purchased. I informed her about Kendra books sales and the varieties of books in Kendra. He was much impressed and I felt very happy.
