Polymer Additives. Our range includes both Polymers
real value Stabilisers and Flame Retardants – meaning that
from just one source you can buy all the additive
to polymers solutions you need.
Our Polymer Stabiliser additives include primary and
secondary antioxidants, UV absorbers, hindered amine light stabilisers (HALS) and Anox™ NDB™
customised polymer stabiliser blends. These products are complimented by a wide range of
Flame Retardant additives including bromine-based, phosphorus-based, antimony and zinc
synergists, and smoke suppressants. We have also pioneered the development of customised

very day you come into contact with many
products that include polymers. In fact, it
would be almost impossible to avoid these
products because polymers are the basis of all
plastic articles such as toys, housewares,
packaging, computers, and stadium seats. Great
Lakes’ polymer stabilisers, including antioxidants
and UV stabilisers, are an integral part in the
success plastic plays in our daily lives. That’s
because our products are added in small
amounts to protect plastic performance by
preventing loss of mechanical strength, cracking,
crazing, yellowing, and loss of gloss due to day-
to-day exposure to air and light.

applications include a wide range of thermoplastic
polymers such as polyolefins, polycarbonates, ABS and
polyesters. Like the hindered phenolic antioxidants,
these products are available in a variety of physical
forms as well in standard and custom blends.
Thio ester antioxidant co-stabilisers provide long term

Lowinox® DSTDP are utilised in many applications as a
synergist in combination with other phenolic
antioxidants. Applications include polyethylene,
polypropylene, ABS, polyester and polyamide.
UV Stabilisers
Daily sunshine and its UV radiation have a deteriorating
effect on many organic materials and polymers. UV
stabilisers play an important role in polymers by
counteracting the effects of the sun. Under the trade
name LOWILITE®, Great Lakes produce a wide range of
benzophenone and benzotriazole UV absorbers and a
growing range of backward integrated, HALS light
stabilisers for protection against UV radiation. These UV
stabilisers are used in items such as outdoor furniture,
textile fibres, automotive plastic parts, paints, and
coatings. We also offer unique, synergistic blends
