Familiarize oneself on how an artwork is made, put together, or organized. Determine
the meaning conveyed by the art and how an artwork makes life more meaningful.
Explain the relationship of the elements of the different fields of art. Determine the

space, volume and others in visual arts.
Acquire the ability to perceive harmonious combination of lines, forms, sizes, textures,

Art appreciation is a three-unit course that develops students’ ability to appreciate, analyze, and critique works of art. Through interdisciplinary and multimodal
approaches, this course equips student with a broad knowledge of the practical, historical, philosophical, and social relevance of the arts in order to hone
COURSE DESCRIPTION students’ ability to articulate their understanding of the arts. The course also develops students’ competency in searching art as well as conceptualizing,
mounting, and evaluating art productions. The course aims to develop students’ genuine appreciation for Philippine arts by providing them opportunities to
explore the diversity and riches and their rootedness in Filipino culture.

Course Assessment
Aside from academic deficiency, other grounds for failing grade are:
Grave misconduct and/or cheating during examinations
Unexcused absences of more than 20% of required number of meetings per term
A failing academic standing and failure to take graded exams
Classroom Policies
Maximum allowable cuts: 3 absences or 6 hours.
Students are required to follow the Letran Dress Code in all Colegio classes.
Students are required to uphold intellectual honesty in all class requirements and activities. This includes the need to use quotation marks for verbatim statements
lifted from another work and to cite all sources in research work through footnotes and/or bibliographies.
