Class Attendance and Make-up Policy
Attendance and participation in class is very important. In addition to the normal lecture material, information will
be given regarding assignments, due dates, explanation, clarification of assignments, material that is not covered in
the assigned text. If you miss a class for any reason, it is your responsibility to become familiar with the material
covered, and make up all missed work. It is also your responsibility to check the course website on a regular basis.

Make-up exams will only be given if the student has a valid reason for missing the original exam. Excusable
absences include extenuating circumstances such as a death in the family or verifiable illness. You must provide
evidence for your absence to be excused. If such situation should occur, please email me before the class absence.
Make-up exams will be different from the original exam and more difficult.

Class time will be used to review and discuss material that is covered in the text, as well as to acquire hands-on
experience via lab exercises.

Students are required to pay attention, follow along with the instructor (attendance will be taken) and to read,
review and work the chapter material in the text as needed. Surfing the internet, instant messaging, texting,
playing games or any activity not related to the class is strictly prohibited.

If you receive a failing grade in class, and have missed 25% or more of the classes, you will receive a NAF
(Non Attendance Failure) as your final grade.

Instructor Expectations
Students are to behave in ways that will not disrupt the classroom environment. Students should make all efforts to
be on time and stay until the end of class. However, if for any reason you are late/have to leave early, you should do

from excessive talking in class and turn off or silence cell phones and electronic devices. Students should focus
their attention on the instructor, and any tasks that the instructor assigns.
