What’s Been Happening?

2010 has been marked by two major events in
our family. Both are full of excitement,
anticipation and come with their own share of
stresses.
Summer saw a series of occurrences that lead
to Jamie adopting the girls. This means that in
every legal aspect Big Sis and Little Sis are
now Jamie’s children. As far as day to day life,
not a lot has changed. The girls no longer have
any access to their mom which has been a huge
adjustment and challenge – we appreciate your
prayers. Jamie is thrilled to be able to
“officially” call the girls her “own”. She loves
them and thinks they are incredible and special
and is delighted to have it all be “official”!!!
We have also taken the renovation plunge.
Getting a home reno loan and making a pile of
changes to our home. Lately there seems to be
a constant buzz of activity around the
“homestead”. Watching the transformation is
incredible. We all enjoy Small Town Canada
and love our location and neighbours, this
adventure allows us to keep what we love and
get our dream home!!

Christmas 2010

Hubby, his dad and the girls went on a bear hunt
in September – they all had a really GREAT
time!!!
Big Sis celebrated her “champagne
birthday” this year – turned 14 on the 14th
of a month. She is blossoming into such a
wonderful young lady. Her friends and
boyfriend consume a huge section of her
time, often we miss having her around, but
we know that this is the time she is
beginning to spread her wings and fly. She
continues to excel in all she does. She made
the honour roll every reporting period, she
landed one of the leading parts in the
school’s drama presentation, her soccer
team won silver and she was clearly an
important player on her basketball and
volleyball teams. She still takes voice
lessons and choir once a week and
continues to develop her natural talent and
gifting.
It is hard to believe how big Little Sis is
getting; she continues to carry her
delightful nature everywhere she goes! She
is constantly bringing smiles and laughter
to all that know her! Her grades are also
amazing – such a smart girl!!! She is also
naturally gifted with sports and was one of
the top players on her gold winning soccer
team!!! She was given the chance to play
her first basketball game in the late winter
and scored a basket from half court! Little
Sis chose to give up voice and choir this
fall, but continues to sing around the house,
in the car and shower . Not a day goes by
when Little Sis isn’t giving the gift of joy
to others. We are so proud of both girls and
love them more than words could ever say!

Hubby, Jamie & Family Activities

Hubby and Jamie both continue to be content with their jobs – Hubby
with that company as a you know what worker and Jamie with that
other company as a you know what worker. They both work with great
people and are constantly learning new things!

It is only October and Hubby has already had a successful hunting

season, getting a black bear and a small antelope buck. The renovations
are interfering with the time that he has to hunt, but hopefully he will
continue to be successful in the upcoming months!

Summer was filled with camping trips, quadding, kayaking and fishing.
We were blessed to get out a bit more this year and despite what many
considered a cool summer we enjoyed a lot of outdoor activities.

A Special Message from Our Family

Once again we wish to take this opportunity to wish you an incredible
Christmas and New Year. We want you to know how much you mean to
us and that our door is open to you anytime! We’d love to have you for a
visit!
Hubby, Jamie & SMIL floated the Red Deer River – Hubby had VERY good luck
with the fishing. Jamie however wasn’t so fortunate – SMIL managed to change that
with the magic of technology and photo editing!!!!
